Chapter 175: Thank Goodness

Despite head butler Rick’s pleas for mercy, Lorelia didn’t bat an eye at him because she had already made up her mind to take her cruel revenge against a vulnerable, small boy who had accepted his bitter fate only for the sake of protecting her son. Helplessly when her horsewhip was brought there, as per her command, the head butler took Aiden away in his unconscious state still wrapped in Barnes’s shirt.
Before losing his senses, Aiden had clenched onto Barnes’s hand, as if even in that tremendous pain, he was still fearing the possibility of being his ’bunny’ taken away from him.
Butler Rick’s hands trembled a little when he unleashed Aiden’s hold from Barnes’s small wrist, it made Barnes sob bitterly for a while. When his glance fell on those dark red burnt scars formed on Aiden’s soft neck skin, he could muster his inner courage, pondering that at least this time, he made the best decision by letting Aiden get away from there.
Finally separating those two, the second both the head butler and maid fearfully stepped out of the room, closing the door behind them, the loud noise of smashing the horsewhip reverberated strongly even outside the room, making painful shivers run down their spine.
Just like Lorelia intended, she brutally smashed her whips on Barnes’s fragile bareback, leaving big painful wounds all over him. Not only whipping, but she slapped him fiercely and even countlessly kicked him on his stomach with her high heels until Barnes coughed out blood.
But no matter how much she tormented that poor child, Barnes didn’t let a whimper escape from his mouth, as if he had already mustered his inner courage to deal with everything she might do with him tonight.

Unlike usual, his wolf Jules painfully growled inside him this time, as if he couldn’t bear to watch the torture he was put through, without any mistake in the first place. But despite his pleas, Barnes didn’t show any sign of fighting back or escaping and continued taking those cruel beatings, with a resolve his life depended upon.
’If I let her hurt me as much as she wants...she won’t touch Master Aiden anymore... I don’t care if I die tonight, but I must protect Master Aiden...because...he’s too precious for me, more than my own life...’
