Chapter 117: Changed Version Of Him
A special ambulance was arranged for Marita to shift her from that run-down one to Morland Hospital, where Zenith and Barnes also accompanied her inside the same ambulance. Right next to Marita, Granny Elma continued holding her cold pale hand within the grip of her wrinkled palm. She couldn’t stop wiping her tears being unable to watch Marita’s motionless body lying still and numb right before her as her vitals were drastically dropping low.
She firmly opposed Zenith’s decision before since his getup with the black mask and a black cap gave her an eerie vibe, making her assume probably Zenith belonged to another criminal organization who were roughly targeting the remaining organs of Marita’s body after dumping her dead body.
But the sincerity in his pitch-black eyes moved her heart a little, making her convince to give him a chance even though it was too risky. But neither having any other spare choice to save Marita, Granny Elma agreed to his decision.
However, she put the strict condition that she would be accompanying Marita no matter where she was taken and would witness everything that would be followed in that hospital where commoners were never allowed in the first place.
While holding onto her cold palm, Granny Elma sobbed bitterly, as she never showed it openly, but deep inside her heart she had always cherished Maita like her own daughter.
With another hand, she patted her forehead while pleading helplessly, "You’ve to wake up, Mari... Y-You are too young to go like this... If...If I could be the one to trade my life for you, I would’ve gladly done for you by now. I am all alone left in this world, but you have a reason to wake up Mari...at least think about your Kyle..."
Seated on the opposite side of them, while Zenith’s heart ached from fear and nervousness to watch Marita’s pulse drop drastically, he couldn’t help but deliberately seek a miracle on the way to reaching the Morland Hospital.
After an anticipated ride of 20 minutes, when they reached the entrance area of the hospital, the ambulance was hurriedly opened, and a stretcher carrying Marita straightaway guided them to the emergency section of the super-specialty hospital.
They reached the third floor and when Marita was shifted inside a VIP cabin, only reserved for the rich, elite class of the society, a young Alpha doctor rushed inside to follow up with the examination of her body.
