Chapter 302: The Crimson Hunt
It was finally nighttime and the crimson hunt game was about to begin.
The girls had thought that Samantha would make them wear pretty dresses as they’d worn in the morning while taking their pictures, but she’d disappointed them when she’d instructed them to wear their ragged clothes.
Some girls were shaking with fear while some were bustling with excitement when Samantha introduced them to their future masters— both young and middle-aged men with big bellies that would make one think they’d swallowed an entire town.
They were all clad in expensive attires that screamed wealthy as they drank their bottles of wine while discussing a few things.
When they saw the girls approaching, they quickly clamped their mouths shut as if the girls could do anything if they heard what they were saying. Their eyes nakedly admired their bodies while licking their lips like they’d never seen a woman before, and rubbing their hands together like a housefly.
Their actions discussed Anastasia to the core; she resisted the urge to walk up to them and give them a smack across the face. Sadly, she was in no position to do such a thing else she wanted to court death even more than she already was that night.
In the middle of their little gathering was Xander, his eyes on her, watching her—and if possible—reading her also.
Anastasia quickly tore her gaze from him, only for it to land on Julian De Luca. His gaze was fixed steadily on hers as if he’d been observing her since she came out of the house with the other girls.
The eye contact didn’t break at all as Anastasia met his gaze for so long that it suddenly seemed like a challenge to see who would break eye contact.
