Chapter 49: Tides of Sand and Shadow
The golden horizon shimmered with the reflection of the setting sun, casting long shadows across the dunes of Tottori. The waves continued to crash rhythmically against the sands below, their roaring cadence echoing through the air like the slow beat of a war drum.
And at the edge of Tottori, two people stood still – Hikaru and Daichi–
Facing the enemy who had returned.
Molecule.
Hikaru's body began to glow, a radiant aura of gold pulsing from his core. The light bent around him, flickering like fire caught in a prism.
Around Daichi, the sand stirred.
It began to levitate, swirling around him in controlled spirals. His posture lowered, fists clenched tight, muscles tense like a coiled spring.
"Molecule..." Hikaru growled, his voice heavy with restraint.
The wind tugged at Molecule's navy hair as he stood tall, that ever-present smirk plastered across his face. His turquoise eyes locked onto Daichi.
"I gotta say, Element of Earth," he said mockingly. "You've got a real tragic backstory. Cheated on, abandoned, heartbroken... Classic."
Daichi's jaw clenched. His gaze sharpened.
