Back at the Base...
"Look! The plane's leaving!" "They're really gone!"
For a brief moment, the survivors let out a breath of relief, until they noticed something. The fearless warriors and terrifying robots were still there. Their metallic forms loomed over the square, unmoving. Fear quickly replaced relief. The atmosphere grew even more tense than before. And it stayed that way until Aegis completed its trip, delivering Zack and the 700 survivors to NYC before returning for the fearless warriors and terrifying robots.
Only after the last machine was gone did the fear finally fade. But in its place came confusion.
"They... really just left?"
"What about us?"
