The mountainous landscape was now littered with the fading forms of defeated dragons.
After they had killed several more waves that spawned in, I took a moment to look at my inventory.
It was filling up nicely with scales, claws, and fangs, all valuable crafting materials. It was then that a massive, blood-red warning flashed in my vision.
BOSS INCOMING!
The ground began to shake violently. A colossal magic circle, far larger than any I had ever seen, even the one for the Dragon King, materialized in the sky above us. It pulsed with a dark, malevolent energy.
"Everyone, behind me! Now!" I yelled, my voice cutting through the air.
They all scrambled to obey without question. The magic circle flared, and from it, a creature of pure nightmare began to descend. It was a dragon, yes, but one made of shadow and obsidian, its scales seeming to drink the very light from the dungeon. It was immense, a walking mountain of death and destruction.
I quickly used Observe, my heart pounding in my chest.

"Shit," I breathed.
"What?" Zoro asked, his hand already on his swords.
"We're fucked," I said grimly. "And not in the good way."
The beast had landed with its back to us, seeming to take a moment to acclimate to its surroundings. It hadn't noticed us yet. I turned to my peerage, my mind racing to form a plan.
"Okay," I said, my voice low and urgent. "Pisti, how many elementals can you summon at once?"
"Three," she answered. "Want me to?"
"Not yet," I said. "Morgie, you focus on its legs. Hit it whenever you see an opening, keep it off balance. Zoro, you try to cut off those wings if you can.
Sanji, you're with Alucard. You both have one job: keep Pisti safe. I want Pisti to focus all her power into those three elementals, make them as strong as possible. I'll be the one to distract it."
They all started to protest, but I cut them off.
"I know you all don't like it," I said, my voice firm. "But if it actually lands a solid hit on me, I can get back up after. You can't."
'I'm not so sure about that, partner,' Voltaris's voice was a grim echo in my mind.
'I know,' I thought back.
"Okay, let's do this," I said, my gaze sweeping over each of them. "Only go when I start the attack. Understand?"
They all nodded slowly, their faces a mixture of fear and determination. I activated my Sneak and Ninjutsu skills, my form blurring as I moved silently around the massive beast. When I was directly in front of its colossal head, I dropped the stealth skills and roared in unison with my partner.
"LIGHTNING DRAGON BALANCE BREAKER!"
The obsidian armor slammed into place around me in a flash of brilliant light. I shot forward, a lightning-clad missile, and delivered a powerful kick straight to its massive, reptilian face.
I followed up with a brutal left hook, then an uppercut that made its head snap back. I then backed off, putting some distance between us.
It stared at me, its molten orange eyes filled with a primordial rage. It stood up on its powerful hind legs, its claws bigger than my entire body, and tried to slash at me.
But as it brought its arm down, it suddenly staggered and fell backward with a ground-shaking thud. Courtesy of Morgie. I saw her dart away, a blur of motion.
I took out my Moonblade. "Everyone, get back!" I yelled.
They all scrambled to a safe distance. I activated my sword's ability, and the Moonblade grew to an immense size.
With a roar of my own, I brought the giant sword down on the fallen dragon, again and again, the impacts shaking the very foundations of the dungeon.
After a few powerful blows, the ability wore off, and the sword returned to its normal size.
The Black Dragon God got to its feet, shaking its massive head, and let out a roar so powerful it felt like the air itself was being torn apart.
"ROOOOAAARRRR!"
A bright yellow aura exploded around me.
"LIGHTNING DRAGON'S HEAVENLY HALBERD!"
I hurled the massive spear of lightning at it. It struck the beast in the chest, and I could hear its pained, angry growl.
Just then, three colossal elementals, one of rock, one of fire, and one of water, rose from the ground and charged the beast, beginning their distraction. I used the opportunity to fly down to my peerage.
"I need all of you to stand back," I said, my voice urgent. "I'm afraid that my next attacks might hurt you as well."
I could see them all nod, but my eyes lingered on Zoro. His grip on his swords was so tight his knuckles were white.
He was a warrior, and being told to stand back from a fight like this was killing him. But he knew he had to.
I flew back over to the beast. I saw it tear through Pisti's elementals like they were made of paper.
As soon as it saw me, it charged, a mountain of rage and fury.
But before it got close enough to do anything, I gathered my power, my bright yellow aura flaring to life.
"LIGHTNING DRAGON SACRED ART… ROLLING THUNDER!"
I poured a massive amount of power into the attack.
The churning sphere of destruction slammed into the dragon, but it just lowered its head and took the blast head-on, barely slowing down.
It was on me in an instant. Its claws, each one the size of a greatsword, slashed across my chest. I couldn't dodge in time. The impact was immense, a sensation of being hit by three freight trains at once.
