Chapter 323: The real danger
Lyra opened her eyes when she felt a force suddenly encircling her. She tried hard to keep her balance when a heavyweight desperately clunge to her. The thing that calmed her down from panicking was the familiar breath that fell on her neck. She wanted to laugh. She could tell her mates by how they breathed.
"Killian?" She called out while caressing his back, "I’m here, sweetheart"
Hearing her voice made him pull back. Killian took his mate’s face between his palms and glanced all over her. His desperate actions came to a halt when he sensed danger. He felt Kenna trying to warn him and snapped around. He could see Noah and Lucas encircling their mate which Killian agreed with. He moved his mate behind him while saying, "We must leave this place" he wasn’t sure he could protect his mate if things escalated. Killian and Kyrell looked like they would kill each other with the way they were fighting.
Lyra looked aghast at her mate’s suggestion. Her eyes went to Kai and Kyrell before turning to Blake, Demir, and Victor. Her sweet boy was injured, and the people she cared for and loved were fighting to the death, how could she leave them? "Killian, you have to save them, we can’t leave them here’’
Killian looked conflicted before turning to glare at Kyrell in particular, "I will kill that bastard, all of this because he couldn’t keep his hands off of Our mate’’ and worse, he already had a female of his own. What was he even trying to gain with all this? Killian had seen no one like this before. The sheer stupidity while putting themselves in danger made no sense.
"Killian, the things are not what they look like. Kyrell has done nothing wrong." Killian felt like he was hearing nonsense that usually happens only in dreams, "What did you just say?’’ he asked while looking at his mate.
Lyra on the other hand looked serious with her words, "I’m going to tell this once so listen properly all of you’’ She was done with everyone badmouthing Kyrell when the poor guy did no wrong. Her mates waited as she continued, "Kyrell doesn’t have a mate and he never betrayed me’’ It felt weird saying it out loud when she had more than one man in her life. However, Lyra had to make peace with it for she had no other choice. She lived in a world that expected her to do so and it helped that she wholeheartedly loved her mates or was trying to make sure that she grew to love them.
"I would appreciate it if you guys dropped this topic for now and did something useful’’ She grew frustrated as she went on, "Killian, stop Blake and Demir from attacking the Eagle tribe, they are innocent’’ She didn’t want to punish them for things that occurred between their higher-ups. It was unfair to them.
Killian looked at his mate. He really looked at her. Everything she was saying about Kyrell conflicted with the truth that he believed in but was what he knew really the truth? His mate wasn’t someone who would say things without thinking, She always analyzed and thought about things before speaking. And right now, his mate looked absolutely sure about what she was saying. When he glanced at Noah and Lucas to confirm things, they had the same confused expressions on their faces but were identical in voicing out their support for Lyra, "We should do as our mate says’’
The three knew their mate well. Killian turned to Blake and Demir first, "Kenna?’’
