Chapter 289: The commotion
Xavier darted his eyes around the place seemingly trying to find someone and when he finally did, a soft smile graced his lips which he quickly wiped away. There she was walking toward him wearing a beautiful dress that made her prettier. Her face held a small smile with a light flush on her cheeks. Blue and gleaming eyes that appeared darker due to the night sky met his own.
"Welcome, Your Majesty. I’m glad that you came today" he heard her say, and before he could reply someone else did.
"You should be" Lexi had a scowl on her face as she added, "Consider it an honor because our Fox tribe doesn’t go to lesser events like these....much less the one organized by a Feral tribe"
Lyra’s smile dropped from her face upon hearing those words. She gripped Blake’s hand indicating to him to not say anything rude. She didn’t want to cause any unnecessary trouble on this special day.
"Please, come inside" Instead of reacting, Lyra decided to completely ignore the fox princess’ harsh words. She recognized Lexi, the latter was close to Elena and Elena hated Lyra. However, that had nothing to do with Lyra. It was not like she was close to either of them so their like or hatred towards her meant nothing to Lyra.
Blake glared at the entire Fox entourage including the Fox king. He did not like how the Fox princess talked to his mate. After that incident with Kyrell’s mate, these kinds of females angered him to no end. They had nothing better to do than hurt others with their irrelevant words. His mate’s pleading gaze stopped him from throwing these foxes out of his tribe. He decided to stay calm for now. For his mate.
However, it seemed like Xavier had other plans. He looked at his sister getting her attention, "Lexi?"
Lexi felt chills along her spine. While glaring at Lyra, she felt a familiar gaze on her which made her turn to it. She flinched in her place as she caught her brother’s stern gaze glaring at her, "Yes brother?"
