Chapter 288: The etiquette

The entire tribe was filled with many kinds of beastmen who had come to celebrate the last day before the heavy snow season started. And once it does, no one would be able to move out of their abodes due to the drastic drop in temperature. The snow would fall without a pause until spring arrived. All the tribes inside the city had made sure to gather enough food to sustain the harsh cold. From now on, they will have to use everything sparingly in order to survive. This was also why all of them were very excited about this banquet.
They could feed their mates and cubs as much as food they wanted without depleting their reserved food back in their own tribes. It was also exhilarating being in each other’s presence before they locked themselves up in thier safe homes. They would not be able to meet their friends, family, and such after tonight.
Lyra had a soft smile on her face as she observed the hustle and bustle going on through her balcony. And when she felt a familiar grip around her waist, her smile spread into a bright one.
"You seem happy, my love," Said Killian as he nuzzled his face against his mate’s neck inhaling her scent which never failed to soothe as well as rile him up. He groaned as he pressed his hard-on against her small back.
Lyra moaned, "Not now, sweetheart. I have a banquet to attend" She said that but couldn’t help but tilt her head to the other side giving her mate more access to her neck. Shivers ran down her spine as she felt him nibble her earlobe before peppering kisses along her neck.
"Killian...." She left out a strained murmur trying to control herself, "We can’t....."
"I know" Answered Killian and turned her around to face him. Then he kissed her cheek followed by her chin avoiding her lips. He wasn’t very sure about controlling himself if he tasted her plump lips. With a last kiss on her forehead, he took a step back and took a breath. His mate had worked hard arranging tonight’s banquet and he didn’t want to ruin it just because of his lust, "Let’s go"
Lyra nodded and held his extended hand mingling her fingers between his before walking with him. Soon they reached the living room where all of her other mates were waiting.
