Chapter 283: Her mate is irresistible
Blake refused to let his mate go as he continued to embrace her and Lyra just let him be. She could see that he was trying to calm himself down and decided to let that be until she had enough, "Guests are waiting for us, Blake" This was the first time they were having visitors in their home and she didn’t want to seem rude to them. The conduct she and her mates show reflects the entire snake tribe. There was already prejudice against the Snake tribe and Lyra didn’t want to aggravate it further by behaving in any manner that might come off as rude.
"It is rude of us to keep them waiting" repeated Lyra as she tried to push her mate from her to no avail. These beastmen and their immense strength compared to her always made her vexed, "Blake!"
"Alright, Alright" Blake chanted while he pulled away from his mate. He didn’t want to anger her further. Also, his bloodlust had already turned calm, and the only reason he was reluctant to let his mate out of his arms was because he just didn’t want to. He didn’t like parting with his mate’s warm and soft body.
Lyra on the other hand glared at her mate as she straightened her clothes and untangled her messed-up hair, "You sure were in a hurry" he didn’t even bother removing her clothes fully before he took her. ’Is this what a quickie is?’ She wondered while pulling up her panties which were dangling on her ankle.
Seeing her last action made Blake restless. His member sprinted up in vigor which earned a scowl from Lyra, "Control yourself, Blake"
"I’ll try" he answered as he thought of different things in his mind in hopes of calming his brother down. When he finally managed to somehow calm down, he looked at his mate before saying, "I’m sorry, My poison was acting up"
"Poison?" Lyra asked. She had heard about this happening but never knew having sex could solve it and as though reading what was going on in her mind, Blake explained, "Venom can be dealt with by counteracting it with other poison or by unleashing our bloodlust by killing. After mating with you though, I never really experienced much bloodlust, and even if it arises, being with you calms me down"
Lyra smiled at that, "I’m happy that I can be of some help"
"Your presence alone is a great help for me, Lilly," said Blake as he embraced his mate. He inhaled her soothing scent and kissed her neck where his mating mark was present. Lyra on the other hand, rubbed his back and pulled away before giving a kiss on his forehead.
Her lips hovered where she had kissed before as she said, "Let us take a bath together and get ready. We have a big day ahead of us" She was talking about the banquet. They had already wasted time and would run late if they continued to linger here in the bedroom.
Blake was unwilling to let his mate go right after mating but had to because he respected her wishes. This banquet was very important to the entire snake tribe and most importantly to his Lilly.
