Chapter 281: Cubs with new female
"She keeps looking at you"
Lyra chuckled hearing Victor’s words. Thanks to her immense awareness of her surroundings due to getting kidnapped multiple times, she could sense when someone was looking at her no matter how subtle they were with it.
"Let her be....she seems curious about her brother’s mate. I would be too if I had a brother who suddenly married a girl without informing me" That last thought made Lyra recall her family back on earth. If she had a brother then she wouldn’t have worried this much about her parents. She just wished they were healthy and happy even without her. On one side, she wanted them to forget her existence and go on with their life but her selfish side thought otherwise. Lyra wanted her parents to always love and miss her just like she was doing here. And about her biological parents, She didn’t want to think more about them because she felt like she would start to cry if she did that. Lyra just hoped the latter would be safe no matter where they were staying.
Lyra briefly closed and opened her eyes successfully pushing back the tears that threatened to come out. Then she smiled as she felt Victor’s arm around her. When she looked up at him, she could see that he was aware of her emotions. She once again acknowledged the mate bond as something amazing. It was like a God-given gift to Lyra.....her mates were the most precious gifts fate had given to her. Then on cue, she also felt Lucas’s fingers gripping around hers and felt him kiss the side of her face. Noah who had no chance with two of them holding her could do nothing but walk behind his mate. He rubbed his large palm along her fur coat-covered back letting her know of his presence.
After walking for quite some time, both the lion and wolf entourage along with Lyra and her mates reached the snake castle. The latter ushered the guests inside and left to get some refreshments to drink as they took seats.
Mona roamed her eyes around the snake castle taking in everything with surprise. It was indeed shocking, that cold-blooded beastmen who were banned from entering the city now had their own residence and a tribe to come back to at the end of dusk. Snake and scorpion beastmen were unpopular with the females because of their extreme possessiveness and reluctance to get along with the other males. They loathed sharing their mates. Mona didn’t know what to feel about Lyra having cold-blooded beastmen as her mate. Were they treating her well? Or was she threatened with being with them? These didn’t seem very far-fetched considering the track record of snake and scorpion beastmen. However, for now, she decided to observe before coming to any conclusion. She was already proven wrong about Lyra having ulterior motives in mating with both Lucas and Noah. Her brothers looked nothing but happy with the female that they have chosen so Mona decided to let that matter go.
Nonetheless, she also wanted to confirm if Lyra was happy with her mates. It was none of her business but still couldn’t she do this much for her sister-in-law? That thought made Mona smile. She settled beside her mate before glancing at Lyra who was standing before them. The latter took the drinks from her mates’ hands before distributing them among the guests.
