Chapter 250: The talking
"Want me to steal you?’’
Lyra’s eyes narrowed as soon as Xavier said that. His smug look combined with a haughty smirk on his face didn’t help either. Was he flirting with her? She genuinely doubted it due to his past behaviors with her. He had an ice-cold personality similar to the mystic powers that he wielded. So his sudden shift in demeanor meant only one thing. He was mocking her and she didn’t do well with people who tried to mock her. Hence as revenge, she stepped back towards the door before pulling it open.
Kaizer was slow in stopping her and that brought Blake and Noah inside the room. He groaned in displeasure when he saw his bunny going towards her mates and it only grew when he caught sight of the snake beastman encircling his arm around her waist before pulling her towards him.
"Xavier?’’ Noah glanced at Xavier in confusion, "What are you doing here and this....’’ his eyes fell on the one beside him. ’A rootless beastman’ he was quick to sense something amiss with the stranger.
However, that was not the case with Blake. As he already knew of Kaizer, it didn’t take long for him to look at him with a hostile gaze, "Why the hell are you inside our house? You had already kidnapped my mate.....’’
"Kidnapped her?’’ Noah blurted out stopping Blake from speaking further, "What do you mean by that?’’ they had not yet discussed everything that had occurred back in the fox tribe due to Kyrell. Their mate wanted to meet that backstabber as soon as possible which stopped them from asking anything about the things that happened after their mate went missing. But here he was learning about the culprit that had kidnapped their mate. And that made him glare at the rootless beastman, "How dare you.....’’
"Noah, stop’’ his words came to a halt when his mate held his arm stopping him from doing anything hasty. Lyra took a glance at Kaizer before saying, "That person saved my life. If not for him then I might have died due to inhaling the fairy bane’’
"Fairy bane?’’ asked Blake feeling confused about the foreign word. He had never before heard about such a thing in the beast world.
"That...’’ Lyra who was about to say more pursed her lips and stopped talking. Demir’s warning came to her mind. He had told her to not talk about this with anyone even her mates. But she thought otherwise. Lyra didn’t mind telling about Fairy Bane and her weakness to her mates but right now was not the time for that. There were strangers here with them so she didn’t think it was optimal for her to say secrets about her, "I’ll explain about that later to you’’ she said looking up at Blake.
Blake observed his mate’s face and sensed her reluctance through their mate bond, "It’s alright, Lilly’’ he said while rubbing her back soothingly. That word ’Fairybane’ sounded very off so much so that it made him worried. The thing that made them paralyzed and his mate suffer would never be something good. This also made him conflicted with the rootless beastman. He had thought of the latter as someone evil but hearing his mate’s words, it didn’t seem like the case anymore.
