Chapter 234: Cold season
[SNAKE TRIBE]
After having a tour of the snake castle, Lyra had lunch with her mates and babies before she left to meet the females of the snake tribe.
She had wanted to do this for the longest time but due to her pregnancies and other inevitable circumstances, it was always pushed ahead.
It was nap time for the Cubs, so her snake babies decided to stay behind with their little brothers. Demir likewise was reluctant to leave them alone and remained in the snake castle. Lyra couldn’t help but giggle when she remembered Peter getting offended by Demir. The former was upset when Demir didn’t trust the snake tribe’s security.
As she continued walking, she saw a few stone houses and caves. She also noted the latter being more than the former. It was understandable. Blake had once informed her of snakes preferring dark and damp places and it seemed the same even for the females of this tribe. She observed the snake females standing outside their abodes. But she didn’t understand why they were out.
"They are waiting for you, my queen," Peter said gaining her attention.
"For me?" Lyra asked in puzzlement.
"You are our queen. They always longed for your visit" In fact, he had constantly told this to the king but the latter just brushed it off saying ’I don’t like troubling my mate with these menial things’ The king was adamant about not burdening his mate but it seemed like fate had other plans. The queen was now here however their king was nowhere to be found. It was not like Peter worried about his king. Their king was more than capable of taking care of himself. But he wished for his king to come back as soon as possible. Their tribesmen would be overjoyed seeing the king and queen together.
Lyra returned her gaze to the snake females. Cold and calm eyes with exquisite faces. The snake females looked like white marble statues of old Greek. They looked unapproachable but the glint in their eyes urged Lyra into smiling at them.
