Chapter 215: Take me away
’What are you thinking?’ Xavier wanted to ask out loud. He gazed at her as she got lost in her own thoughts. Her delicate brows furrowed and lips puckered, she looked so adorable that it made Xavier gulp. He suddenly felt his throat dry and quickly averted his gaze from her. It was his desperate action in trying to suppress whatever he was feeling. He didn’t quite like it. Having no control over his wavering feelings unnerved him.
Whereas Lyra was mauling over what Prince Xavier suggested. For a second, she thought about leaving with him but on the other hand, Kaizer’s face came to her mind hence stopping her from taking even a single step from the cave. But her resolution broke quite easily with Xavier’s next words.
’’Your mates started fighting each other as soon as you went missing’’ Lyra looked at him alarmingly as Xavier continued talking with nonchalance, ’’It is your responsibility to pay for the damages that your mates caused inside my territory. I definitely will make sure to hold all of you accountable.....’’
’’Are they alright?’’ Lyra interrupted making him stop. She looked at him with tear-filled eyes, ’’My mates.....they are safe right?’’ she felt her heart clench just imagining her mates getting hurt. And hearing prince Xavier’s words, it seemed like her biggest fear had come true. The only thing that she wished for was for her mates to not fight each other. It would be unreasonable for them to get along while sharing the same woman, but she at least hoped for them to remain cordial with each other. Her mates were not some normal beastmen but kings! They had their own tribe and beastmen that they were leading. Their tribesmen respected them and looked up to them. So for their kings to fight each other just for a woman was shameful or that was what she felt like. Not all might think like this but Lyra never believed that everyone has the same thoughts and ideologies.
She was sure that their kings lowering themselves might not feel pleasant for the majority and Lyra never wished for something like to happen to her mates. She wanted her mates and children to receive all the respect that they deserved and didn’t want to become any hindrance to them. But the most important issue right now was not any of these. Her priority was for her mates’ well-being before anything else, ’’Tell me’’ she urged once more, ’’They didn’t get injured severely did they?’’
Xavier frowned. He didn’t like how she was getting so worked up for those idiots. It was normal for males to fight each other in the beast world and in this case, they were fighting or more like beating that golden eagle because he lost their mate. It was a reasonable thing for males to do.
’’I don’t know’’ he decided to answer her, ’’You should go and look for yourself’’ It sounded cold and indifferent but only Xavier knew how he held back from mentioning that golden eagle getting injured. With just a glimpse he could make out the severity that the eagle received from multiple immortal beastmen. He never was the one to hold back or think of others’ feelings but now....he oddly felt himself suppressing his own self and catering to the pretty female’s mood. She looked like she would burst into tears and break down if at all he mentioned the occurrence back in the fox tribe. And his action proved to be effective because Lyra sighed in relief as soon as she heard his words.
But her worry didn’t completely diminish and it seemed like it would not do so until she saw her mates. This made it easier for her to decide, ’’Please take me from here’’ it was her earnest request. She didn’t care about anything anymore; the only thing inside her mind was her mates and babies.

As soon as Kaizer left the cave, he ventured out into the forest trying to find the source of the sound that had previously occurred. This part of the forest was mainly where he resided so other beastmen didn’t lurk around fearing him. The reason for him bringing his bunny here was also because it was secluded from the outside world. Enemies and her mates likewise would not be easily able to detect her location. It was not like he did not trust her mates. They were her mates, her other halves after all but still.....he felt uneasy sending her back. If not for his intervening, that day in the fox tribe would have been disastrous for her.
