Chapter 204: All hell loose
(Back in the fox tribe)
After the sudden disappearance of Lyra, Kyrell frantically started to search the entire place. Time passed but he didn’t even catch a glimpse of her. As a last resort, he turned into his beast form and left the fox tribe to search for her outside.
And by now, the fairy bane had lost its potency, and everyone who was paralyzed started to regain their strength. This served as a nightmare to the strays because all of the immortal beastmen who were quiet till now began to go on a rampage.
The city guards were discreet enough to move away from the battlefield allowing the immortal beastmen to attack their opponents. Noah asked everyone including other tribes’ kings and queens to leave the fox tribe through the back gates. Getting caught up with immortal beastmen now would cost all of their lives. But amidst all these, he didn’t fail to notice the absence of his beloved mate. He got nervous at first but when he didn’t find Kyrell anywhere in the crowd, he assumed that the eagle king must have taken his mate somewhere safe.
Lucas was the same. He too guessed that his mate must have left with Kyrell. There were still traces of Kyrell’s magic on the battlefield so it was easy for him to know that Kyrell was not affected by that white smoke. And as long as his mate was safe. he could concentrate here on keeping his tribe protected. Maybe that too was unnecessary because the strays were getting annihilated by immortal beastmen. He just hoped that their bloodlust would subdue after this massacre or else others here might fall in danger.
After moving all of the females out of the fox tribe through the back gates, only the kings of each tribe and city guards remained inside. This was because they had to face the immortal beastmen if something went awry.
Blake curled his giant tail around the stray beastmen and squeezed them until blood splurted out staining the soil. On the other side, Victor picked up the enemies with his sharp beak before dropping them on the hard ground. Demir used his poison to torture the strays and later killed them.
By now, the leader of the stray beasts and his companions regretted their decision in coming to the fox tribe. It was hasty of them to come to a place filled with King beastmen who were also immortal. They trusted the Black wolf tribe’s princess too much. Her coaxing and confidence managed to get through their head making them go toward their own doom.
"Retreat now!" he shouted in desperation. This was the last act they could do if they wanted to stay alive. There was no other option left than running away.
The stray beastmen who were still fighting on the battlefield started to take steps away from the fox tribe. They could see the immortal beastmen trying to control their powers. If not for that, then they would have been dead by now. So before it was too late, they needed to flee.
Without having any other choice left, some of the powerful stray beastmen formed a barrier using their body that separated their comrades from their opponents. This served as a chance for the strays beyond the body barrier to exit the fox tribe. But the ones that stood in front brutally got killed while saving their comrades.
