Chapter 87: Truth inside the lies
Inside a cave, Gregory accumulated all of the magical beasts that he hunted in the forest of Wayland which he was currently residing in, and tore opened those monsters’ bodies with his sharp claw.
Blood spilled out of it coating the entire ground. He indifferently continued digging the creature’s bodies one by one and removed the power orbs inside them.
Prescott glanced at Gregory with his lazy eyes and smirked "Is this really, necessary Gregory?"
Gregory glanced at the latter with dead eyes "You wouldn’t understand because you are already an immortal beastman" then he lowered his eyes and spoke as he continued his work "But it is not the same for me, I age even if I’m a five-star marked beastman. These power orbs are necessary for me to cross that level as soon as possible"
Prescott squinted his eyes and asked "I get your logic, but I don’t understand your reason to do this unnaturally even if you can accomplish it with proper training"
Gregory smiled bitterly at his remark "My spirit broke the day I lost Iria’s love for that Theodore" then he looked up to him and continued "What can this shell of a body do without its life? I’m tried, Prescott, I’m tired of everything"
Prescott sighed hearing his words. It was indeed true that males lost their will and vitality to live or do something if they didn’t earn their beloved’s love. He, himself was lucky to cross and become an immortal beastman before meeting Iria. After meeting her, everything he did and said revolved around her. He gave up his throne to his cousin Garrison and decided to stay on the mermaid island, but that scum betrayed him and fell for the woman he loved.
Iria his love had that kind of power over males, a single glance from her, and powerful beastmen knelt in front of her. Beautiful and extremely kind, which caused the males to misunderstand that she was interested in them. However, she never looked back at anyone after showing kindness, her love was only for Theodore and no one else. And that bastard took advantage of it very well to boost his possessiveness, he never allowed any other male near Iria other than Gregory, but the one who he trusted the most stabbed him in his back.
When Gregory explained his plan about abducting Iria, he was reluctant to do it at first, but his heart got the best out of him. Separating Iria from Theodore was the only way he could become close to her, and he didn’t regret it a bit. Although he was hesitant in using Iria’s daughter in this plan, he soon agreed to it.
"What are thinking about?" he broke out of his thoughts hearing Gregory’s question.
"Nothing" he shook his head dismissing his qualm.
