Chapter 1012 - 1009: Six Opportunities (2)
The opportunity to comprehend Immortal Mana and a fragment of the skills of his Paragon Bloodline was something he was not going to miss out on.
And there were still four more opportunities for him to take, and there was no way he was going to miss those opportunities.
His Chained Soul Origin
Lightning Element
Metal Element
And Divinity.
Whenever Corey ascended to a new Tier, one of the things that always occurred in him was the breaking of some of the chains binding his soul origin.
Corey did not know why his soul origin was bound, what it entailed, and if it would lead to him remembering his past life.
But what he did know, was that as long as he was alive and kept progressing on the path of power, he would break these chains.
What he did not expect was that some chains had cracks on them as he fused with the world tree, and it looked like the chains would shatter eventually. But for some reason which he guessed was related to his temporary increase in Tier, the chains did not fully break.
What Corey wanted to do while he was fused to the world tree was to shatter at least a single chain.
Everytime a chain shattered, his soul energy, mental energy, and spiritual energy drastically increased.
He had tried breaking some chains in the past, but he always failed.
However, seeing the opportunity to break a chain and obtain an increase in his spiritual, mental, and soul energy was something he was not going to pass on.
The fourth opportunity was the chance to comprehend the lightning element and increase his lightning affinity.
Because his Cosmic Soul had absorbed the Black Tribulation Lightning that nearly destroyed his Sea of Consciousness, he obtained Lightning Affinity.
A feat that should not be possible because he was a Paragon.
After fusing with an Elemental Infinity Crystal, the Paragon usually gained the ability to resist that element to a specific level.
Unlike Supremes who had extremely high affinities for the elements, Paragons resisted it.
But because of the nature of his Cosmic Soul, and also because his Cosmic Soul had directly absorbed the Black Tribulation Lightning instead of his body absorbing it, he was able to gain Lightning Affinity, and not just any lightning affinity, a unique lightning affinity.
To increase his lightning affinity would require him getting some resources he had no time to get at the moment, but with his fusion with the world tree, he could find a way to increase his lightning affinity.
And not only that, he could also find a way to obtain metal affinity.
’The world tree has a lot of affinities, but its affinity toward lightning and metal are the strongest.’
’If I use what happened with the lightning tribulation, I’ll need to use my Cosmic Soul to increase my lightning affinity and metal affinity.’
’I have an idea, but it could be dangerous.’
Corey appeared in his Sea of Consciousness, and he was about to transfer the lightning bolts that were in his body into his Sea of Consciousness, and then into his Cosmic Soul. But he noticed something.
"Hmm?"
He turned and looked at the center of his Sea of Consciousness where a sprout could be seen on top of his Sea of Consciousness.
"Is that... the world tree?"
Corey vanished and reappeared before the world tree, and when he noticed that the aura was the same as that of the world tree, his eyes flashed in suspicion and surprise.
"Is this also a part of the fusion process with the world tree? Not only a bodily fusion, but a spiritual fusion?"
Corey furrowed his brows, and then his eyes widened slightly when he saw that the sprout was growing at a visible pace.
"Hmm. I sense no harm from it, let me continue with what I planned on doing."
Corey vanished, and then he reappeared before his Cosmic Soul. He closed his eyes, and then he opened his palms, streaks of silver lightning began appearing on his hands and Corey nodded in appreciation.
He closed his eyes once again, and then he transferred the divine metallic essence of the world tree that was inside his body, to his spirit body.
His arms became coated in silver, but Corey frowned when he sensed that there was no aura of divinity flowing in his arms.
’I was planning on transferring the lightning element, metal element, and divinity one by one. But I have a feeling that it’ll be much better if I do all at the same time.’
’Hmm. Let me try again.’
Corey once again tried to channel the divinity of the world tree, and a few seconds later, his arms began emitting a star filled glow.
It was like stars and nebulae were flowing across his arms, and it awed Corey.
"A pity I haven’t even comprehend up to a single percent of divinity."
Corey sighed softly, and then he placed his hands on the shell of his Cosmic Soul.
The moment he did this, he felt a powerful suction force from his Cosmic Soul that stunned him.
"What the?"
Corey could feel his Cosmic Soul emitting desire, and he knew that it was not toward the world tree’s lightning or divine metal.
No.
It was towards her divinity.
"This is interesting."
Corey muttered with a slight curl of his lips when he saw that cracks were beginning to appear on the shell of his Cosmic Soul at a rapid pace.
In less than a ten seconds, the cracks that appeared on the shell neared the number of cracks that would have appeared had he ascended to another Tier.
He could also feel his Cosmic Soul awakening at a rapid pace, and he had a feeling that if he could continue this for a day or two, his Cosmic Soul would fully awaken.
Unfortunately, that was not possible in the slightest.
"What are you doing?! Do you want to kill me?!"
