Chapter 1011 - 1008: Six Opportunities (1)
Corey destroyed the last of Anton’s death qi, and then the fusion with the world tree began. He had no idea what to expect, but what happened next took him by surprise.
Vines appeared from the world tree and wrapped around his arms, two spikes then pierced through his palms, drawing out blood that was absorbed by the world tree.
"What in the heavens? What the hell is your blood?"
Corey frowned when he heard the world tree’s words. He didn’t expect his blood to be needed in the process of the fusion with the world tree.
"Do-"
Just as he was about to ask question, his body seized as his heart stopped working for a moment.
He froze in place, and even his mind was overwhelmed by what he was feeling.
The world tree had begun transferring her essence into him, and the power in it was immense.
He felt like an entire ocean was being forced into his stomach, and he felt bloated.
His bodily functions stopped functioning at some point, but after half a minute, he blinked as his body slowly adapted to the essence of the world tree.
He tried to turn his head, but he could not.
’It seems I can’t move.’
He then focused on his arms which were entirely covered in silver vines.
’I can feel that my entire body is covered by the world tree... For some reason, I feel vulnerable.’
Although Corey could not see it because of his condition, Pope Arzhel, Tessa, Anton, the priest from the Temple of Darkness, the mage, Syrelle, and Thalos... they could all see the colossal world tree shrinking at a slow but visible pace is it was seemingly being sucked into Corey’s palms.
"His aura is rising... And why does it look like he’s absorbing the world tree? How is that possible?"
Pope Arzhel looked at Anton with a confused expression, and Anton shook his head.
"I don’t know. I don’t know what’s happening."
Pope Arzhel frowned deeply, and then he shifted his gaze back at Corey.
"I feel like things are going to get a lot more annoying."
Pope Arzhel wished he could attack Corey before he completed his fusion with the world tree, but his instincts were warning him about the danger around Corey.
Despite the shrinking of the world tree, the crown of the world tree was still filled with lightning bolts that could threaten his life.
"So annoying." Pope Arzhel scoffed.
While this brief conversation between Pope Arzhel and Anton occurred, Corey was in a state of what he would call... excitement.
He could feel himself crossing into Tier 4 as his body began emitting Mystic Mana and his physique began transforming from an Astral Physique to a Mystic Physique.
Even his Sea of Consciousness was affected by this evolution, and he felt himself getting so much stronger to the point that his previous self would have absolutely no chance against him even if he was handicapped.
’A shame that it’s only temporary.’
Although the mystic mana his body was emitting was a mixture of his mana and the world tree’s mana, he knew that it was inferior for one reason alone.
His Infinity Crystals.
His Infinity Crystals were still at the Astral Grade, and this was a sign that although he was in the Mystic Realm, a major part of his power was not.
However, that did not stop Corey from comprehending so many things he would have never gotten the opportunity to comprehend.
Immortal Mana
His Paragon Bloodline
His chained soul origin
The lightning element
The metal element
And... Divinity.
These six things were what Corey knew he had an opportunity to comprehend while fusing with the world tree and also after a successful fusion with the world tree.
And if not for how unique his mind was, and also the adaptive nature of his Undying Will, he would have remained frozen and would not have had the opportunity to comprehend these six things.
Immortal Mana was something that was rare to encounter, and it was even more rare for him to have the Immortal Mana of a world tree.
Because the world tree’s Immortal Mana was inside of him, he could feel and understand it a lot better than if he was looking at it.
’I would definitely not have the opportunity to observe Immortal Mana so clearly like this if not for the fact that world tree was controlling her mana to ensure it doesn’t harm me.’
’If I ever tried to absorb Immortal Mana with my current body, I would instantly die.’
A tiny part of Corey’s mind had this thought as he continued his comprehension of these six concepts.
As for his Paragon Bloodline, he obtained something he never expected.
A temporary unlock of the remaining sealed three Paragon Bloodline skills.

Paragon Claws
These were the three bloodline skills he had left to unlock before becoming a true Paragon, and to do that, he needed to become a Tier 4.
Usually, it was Nina that always unlocked a bloodline skill for him, but he realized that these three skills were partially unlocked.
It was similar to a pin sized hole on a door, but this pin sized hole was a lot for Corey because he was able to comprehend a fragment of what these three bloodline skills could do.
With his prowess and unique mind, he was certain that if he had enough time, he would be able to comprehend a lot more from these bloodline skills, and he would eventually be able to create new skills that were somewhat similar to these skills.
However, he had no plans to do such a thing since whatever he created would obviously be a lot worse than the original bloodline skills.
But how it came in handy for him was that whenever he obtained these skills, his proficiency with the skills would not be zero.
’Also... this would be helpful for something else in the future... If it later comes to it.’ Corey’s eyes flashed with a calculating glint.
