Chapter 23 - 23 Father reunites
Making his way to the village. He was tagged along with the woman that Rex is helping. Even though Rex's father did not want to leave his son to defeat the group by himself. He knew that he would only become a burden.
"At least I have a cloak, the woman, and a decent explanation of what happened." Rex's father accidentally said out loud.
Hearing that, the woman did feel fear. That was mainly because she did not know where the two of them were going. Since Rex told her to leave with him. She hoped that Rex's father had more people to help meet up with.
Getting further along, Rex's father and the woman stopped. Rex's father saw the caravan with his wife and Rex's guardians. Glancing at the woman, Rex's father saw that she had nothing but fear.
Knowing that someone is stronger than him and his wife. Rex's father knew that he should give his wife at least a signal.
He remembered when they were first dating how he would chirp like birds and the love of his life would just sit there and enjoy the view and song. Rex's father also did songs that meant harm, happiness, and fear. Rex's father simply tried to chirp like he used to. He started it softly to remember the feeling. Once he did get the feeling back.
He began to chirp a song that meant harm and fear.
Rex's mother heard the chirping and knew that it was her husband's doing. She remembered all the times that they would go out somewhere and he would chirp for her.
Hearing that the song had a hint of harm and fear. Rex's mother did nothing but wait. She did not want the chance her husband gave her to be ruined. She waited until the evening to tell Rex's guardians.
Hearing the bird chirping, the caravan got scared. They did not know if a beast was close by or not. So they decided to hurry up to the village.
Rex's guardians saw that Rex's mother was scared. It was not from the beast that she seemed scared of.
