Thor had adopted a noticeably humbler demeanor. Gone was the proud warrior prince—replaced by a man quietly adjusting to a simpler life. He moved through Jane's home with a sense of unfamiliar purpose: setting the table, pouring tea, carefully cleaning cups, and even sweeping the floor. Every action he took was deliberate, as if he were trying to atone for something, or perhaps prove he had changed.
William leaned casually in the doorway, a sly, almost wicked smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.
"I'm here," he murmured under his breath.
Jane, who was seated at the kitchen counter sipping from a cup, looked up, confused. "Who's here?" she asked, glancing around.
"Oh, nothing," William replied with a disarming grin. "Just talking to myself. It's a bit of a bad habit I picked up—especially when things get too quiet."
"You can be so weird sometimes, Tom," Jane said, narrowing her eyes playfully, though there was a slight blush in her cheeks. "You always say the oddest things."
Darcy wandered over and leaned close to Jane. "Hey, Jane... have you noticed the way Tom looks at you? His eyes are practically glowing. There's something strange going on there."
"Darcy, stop it. Don't make things awkward," Jane snapped, her voice rising slightly, clearly flustered.
"I'm just saying what I see! And if you don't believe me, ask Pepper—she's been watching you two the whole time." Darcy turned toward Pepper, who sat silently on the other end of the couch.
