Chapter 44: Cornered || 2 vs 1
Xavier stood cornered against the wall as Bull and Maximilian entered the bathroom.
"...!" Xavier’s eyes widened in surprise. Maximilian was in a prison outfit, blending in with the other inmates. ’I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn’t notice him!’
Maximilian’s smirk was sharp, his voice dripping with venom. "What’s up, village rat? Miss me?" He stepped forward, his boots clicking against the wet floor. "I’m here to kill you."
"What’s up village rat! Miss me? I am here to kill you!"
’What is he doing here?’ Xavier wondered as he glanced back and forth at Bull and Maximilian.
’Could it be that they are together in this? But.... it doesn’t make sense. Dominic isn’t stupid. There is no way he would want to get me killed in the prison when he already knows what will happen if I don’t get out of here by morning.
Maybe Dominic found out the truth and discovered that I was bluffing? Could it be that this is why he wanted to keep me in the prison for one more night? No... if that was the case, he would have come here himself to confront me. After all, I mocked him a bit too much.
Also, he wouldn’t have given me 10 million either. So there is only one possibility now, and that is Dominic isn’t aware of this and Maximilian is doing this all by himself.’
Maximilian drew his gun, the barrel gleaming under the flickering lights. "I told you that you’re going to die tonight."
