The Twisted Obsession

Chapter 326: He knew..

Abby paced anxiously in the living room, her heart racing, her mind a tangled web of fears and suspicions. She had felt it all day, the weight of something terrible hanging in the air, pulling her deeper into the pit she had been trying to climb out of. Every creak of the house, every shift in the shadows made her jump.

Where was Remo? Why wasn’t he home yet?

She wrapped her arms around herself, her mind spinning. Ever since that night—since the attack—things had shifted between them. She could feel it. Remo had been distant, watching her with a mixture of concern and something darker, something she couldn’t place. It terrified her. The whispers in her mind told her he knew something—something about her, about the truth she had been trying to hide for so long.

Suddenly, the door clicked open, and Abby froze. Her heart leapt into her throat as she watched Remo step into the house. Her breath caught at the sight of him. His usually pristine suit was stained with blood, his hands streaked with it, his face pale but composed.

For a moment, she couldn’t move. She just stared at him, at the blood, at the quiet intensity in his eyes. Her mind raced with a hundred different thoughts—what had he done? Who had he hurt? But above all, the fear that tugged at her heart was that it somehow had to do with her.

"Remo?" Her voice was barely a whisper as she stepped toward him, her fingers trembling as they reached out, wanting to touch him, to reassure herself that he was okay. "What happened?"

Remo stood still for a moment, his dark eyes watching her carefully. "It’s not mine," he said, his voice steady, as if trying to comfort her. "The blood... it’s not mine."

Abby blinked, her heart still racing. He was trying to calm her down, but his words didn’t bring the relief she had hoped for. She frowned, stepping closer to him. "Then whose is it?" she asked softly, her voice cracking slightly.

Remo didn’t answer immediately. Instead, he wiped a hand across his face, his expression hard but weary. He looked like he had been through a war—a war she couldn’t see but could feel in the tension between them.
