The Twisted Obsession

Chapter 324: Lure them out

The morning sun filtered through the blinds of Remo’s study, casting long shadows on the polished wooden floor. Tony stood by the large window, arms crossed as he stared out over the sprawling city. His mind was racing, piecing together the fragments of the attack from the previous night.

Remo sat behind his desk, his face hardened with determination. The events of the last few days played over and over in his mind. Abby’s paranoia, the assassin, and the cryptic warning about someone close to her—it all pointed to something much bigger than he had initially realized.

"We’re missing something," Tony said, breaking the silence, his voice deep and steady. "This attack wasn’t random. It was too clean, too well thought out."

Remo nodded, his jaw clenched. "Whoever sent that guy knew exactly what they were doing. The plan was to make it look like I killed Abby in some violent confrontation. The police would have been all over me, and by the time I could explain, it would’ve been too late."

Tony walked over to the desk, placing a folder down in front of Remo. "I’ve been looking into the assassin’s background. His name was Marcus Thorne, ex-military turned hired gun. He’s worked for some high-level clients over the years—always clean, always professional."

Remo opened the folder, scanning the details Tony had gathered. It was clear that Marcus was no amateur. Whoever had hired him had deep pockets and connections.

"And the bank account?" Remo asked, his eyes flicking back up to Tony.

Tony’s expression tightened, his eyes darkening. "That’s where things get interesting. I traced the payment that was made to him. It was a sizable amount, wired from an offshore account. But I managed to dig a little deeper."

Tony pulled out a sheet of paper from the folder, handing it to Remo. "The account is linked to a name—Dominic Blake."
