The Twisted Obsession

Chapter 221: Playing with Fire

When they returned home, Abby sensed the simmering anger radiating from Remo, so she wisely chose to remain silent. Without a word, she swiftly changed out of her gala attire and retreated to the bathroom for a shower, hoping to give Remo some space to cool down.

Meanwhile, Remo couldn’t shake off the feeling of intense anger and jealousy that had consumed him. The image of Alex’s hands around Abby’s waist replayed in his mind like a broken record, fueling the fire of his rage. He paced the room, his jaw clenched tight, his fists balled at his sides. It was a tumultuous storm of emotions swirling within him, threatening to engulf him entirely.

In desperate need of some form of release, Remo made his way to the alcohol aisle, his steps heavy with frustration. He poured himself a generous glass of bourbon, the amber liquid swirling enticingly in the glass. As he raised the glass to his lips, the pungent aroma of the alcohol hit him, stinging his nostrils with its sharpness.

With a heavy sigh, Remo took a sip, the fiery liquid burning its way down his throat with each swallow. It was a bitter reminder of his own turmoil, a temporary reprieve from the chaos raging within him. But even as he drank, he knew that alcohol could only numb the pain for so long.

He needed to calm down before he lost control completely. Determined to regain his composure, Remo took another gulp of the bourbon, feeling its warmth spread through his veins, dulling the edge of his anger ever so slightly. Closing his eyes, he took a deep breath, willing himself to find some semblance of peace amidst the chaos

As Remo stood in the dimly lit room, his fingers clenched tightly around the glass of bourbon, conflicting emotions waged war within him. On one hand, there was a burning jealousy that seared through his veins like molten lava, threatening to consume him whole. The mere thought of another man’s hands on Abby, of anyone daring to lay claim to what he considered his, ignited a fierce protectiveness deep within him.

Yet, intertwined with that jealousy was an undeniable love that he refused to acknowledge, even to himself. He had built walls around his heart, convinced that love was nothing more than a weakness, a vulnerability to be exploited. But Abby had effortlessly shattered those walls, worming her way into the very core of his being with her infectious laughter and unwavering loyalty.

Now, as he grappled with the sight of another man’s presence around her, he found himself torn between the desire to lay claim to her as his own and the fear of admitting the depth of his feelings. He couldn’t bear the thought of losing her, of letting her slip through his fingers like sand, yet he couldn’t bring himself to utter the words that would bind them together.

In the midst of his inner turmoil, Remo took another sip of bourbon, the bitter taste serving as a stark reminder of the bitter truth he dared not confront. He was in love with Abby, irrevocably and undeniably, but he was too afraid to admit it, too afraid to risk everything he had built for the chance of something more.
