Chapter 185: Impressive
Remo sat behind his mahogany desk, the dim light of the study casting long shadows across the room.
His steely gaze fixated on the financial report spread out before him, each number telling a story of deceit and betrayal.
The casino, his prized possession, was bleeding money. But it wasn’t the losses that infuriated him—it was the realization that someone within his own organization was orchestrating the theft. They had dared to steal from him, the very man who had given them power and protection.
Fingers clenched around the edges of the report, Remo’s jaw tightened with restrained fury. How could they betray him like this? How could they be so foolish as to believe they could steal from the Don and get away with it?
His mind raced with possibilities, each scenario more gruesome than the last. But he knew that before he could take action, he needed to gather evidence, to uncover the snakes lurking in his own den.
With a calculated calmness, Remo reached for the phone, dialing Tony’s number with a sense of urgency. After a few rings, Tony answered.
"Tony, it’s Remo," he said, his tone cutting through the line with authority.
"Boss, what’s going on?" Tony’s voice crackled with concern on the other end.
"I’ve uncovered something at the casino," Remo replied, his voice tight with frustration. "Someone’s been skimming off the top, Tony. They’ve been stealing from me."
There was a moment of silence on the other end, before Tony’s voice came back, laced with anger. "Those bastards. They’ve got some nerve."
"You’re damn right they do," Remo growled. "But we’re going to deal with this, Tony. We’re going to root out the traitors and set things straight."
