Chapter 165: Bad news
Abby nodded slowly, still trying to wrap her head around the concept. She couldn’t imagine being in such an unconventional relationship, but she could see the genuine love and affection that Beatrix shared with both Damien and Rhys.
Abby turned to look at Remo, seeking reassurance in his familiar gaze. Remo met her eyes with a nod, confirming Beatrix’s statement about her unique relationship with Damien and Rhys.
Seeing the confirmation in Remo’s expression, Abby felt a sense of relief wash over her. Despite the initial shock of learning about Beatrix’s unconventional marriage, she trusted Remo’s judgment and knew that there was more to the story than met the eye.
With a small smile, Abby turned back to Beatrix, her curiosity piqued. "It’s... it’s nice to meet you both," she said softly, her voice tinged with sincerity. "And thank you for explaining. I... I guess I still have a lot to learn."
Beatrix smiled warmly at Abby’s response, her eyes filled with understanding. "No worries, dear," she replied, her tone gentle. "We’re all just figuring things out as we go along."
Beatrix turned to Matteo, her eyes soft with understanding and compassion. "Dad will come tomorrow. He has to take care of something," she reassured him gently. "Have you thought about a name?"
Matteo’s gaze drifted to his newborn daughter, a small smile playing on his lips as he considered Beatrix’s question. "Actually," he began, "I’ve been thinking about it. I want to name her after Remo."
Beatrix’s eyes widened in surprise, a soft gasp escaping her lips. "Remo?" she repeated, her voice filled with emotion. "That’s... that’s a beautiful tribute, Matteo."
Matteo nodded, his heart swelling with pride at the thought of honoring his brother in such a meaningful way. "Yeah," he murmured, his voice thick with emotion. "Remi. We’ll call her Remi."
