The Twisted Obsession

Chapter 127: Family visit

It’s been 3 days since he nearly lost Abby. Three agonizing days that felt like an eternity, each passing moment dragging him further into the depths of despair. Remo had never been the same since that harrowing ordeal, his spirit shattered and his heart heavy with the weight of his emotions.

He was just a shell of himself, a mere shadow of the man he once was. The vibrant energy and vitality that had once defined him seemed to have vanished, replaced by a hollow emptiness that gnawed at his soul.

Remo found himself drowning inside, consumed by a darkness that threatened to swallow him whole. He struggled to find his footing in the midst of the storm raging within him, his thoughts turbulent and chaotic as he grappled with the overwhelming sense of loss and guilt that consumed him.

The fear that Abby would wake up and not see him, that she would never forgive him for the pain he had caused her, was the only reason why he was holding on. But even that fragile thread of hope felt like it was slipping through his fingers, leaving him adrift in a sea of uncertainty and despair.

God, he missed her—missed her so much it hurt. He hadn’t realized how much he needed her until now, until she was lying unconscious in a hospital bed, fighting for her life.

He was afraid to admit it, but damn... Abby was his anchor, his guiding light in the darkness. She was the one who had shown him what it meant to love and be loved again after all these years, and the thought of losing her was more than he could bear.

Abby’s face flashed through his mind again, her delicate features etched with pain and sadness, and he shook his head in a futile attempt to banish the image. She was like the angel on his shoulder, reminding him of all the reasons why he should hold on, why he shouldn’t end it all too.

But alongside that reminder came a flood of guilt and self-loathing, as Remo grappled with the knowledge of the pain he had caused Abby. He felt like a predator posing as a house pet, a monster masquerading as a man.

Despite the darkness that threatened to consume him, Remo couldn’t shake the foreign emotions that Abby had stirred within him. She had brought out things in him that he didn’t know were there, emotions that curled around every organ in his body until he felt like he was being suffocated.
