As they lay entwined in the quiet darkness, Remo’s voice broke the peaceful silence. "Abby, there’s something I want to give you," he whispered, his tone filled with warmth and sincerity.
Abby lifted her head from his chest, curiosity flickering in her eyes. "What is it?" she asked, her heart fluttering with anticipation.
With a gentle smile, Remo reached over to the bedside table and pulled open the drawer. From within, he retrieved a stack of documents and handed them to Abby.
Confusion knit her brow as she glanced at the papers in her hand. "What’s this?" she questioned, her gaze flicking between Remo and the documents.
"Open it and read," Remo replied, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
Abby hesitated for a moment before unfolding the papers and scanning the contents. Her breath caught in her throat as realization dawned on her. It was the ownership papers for the house they were currently staying in.
"Why are you giving me these documents?" Abby asked, her voice barely above a whisper, her heart pounding with disbelief.
Remo’s smile widened as he took her hand in his. "Because, Abby, I bought this house for you," he said softly, his eyes never leaving hers.
Warmth welled up in Abby’s eyes as she looked at Remo, her emotions threatening to overwhelm her. "You... you bought me a house?" she whispered, her voice choked with emotion.
