Chapter 53: Meeting father-in law
"He makes you happy right?"
A deep blush tainted Abby’s cheeks. "Y-yes."
Her father chuckled, "I guess you really love this guy huh?"
Abby’s eyes widened in surprise, caught off guard by her father’s straightforward question. She fumbled for words, a mix of emotions swirling within her. Her mind raced, grappling with the realization that her father was probing into the depths of her feelings for Remo.
"I... I like him a lot, Dad. He’s been my friend through everything," Abby admitted, her gaze shifting away for a moment. The truth lingered on the tip of her tongue, a truth she hadn’t fully acknowledged to herself.
Her father’s eyes twinkled with amusement, a knowing smile playing on his lips. "Liking him is one thing, Abby. But do you love him?"

Abby nodded, "Al-right. He’s here. Do you want to meet him?"
Her father’s eyes lit up with a mixture of curiosity and warmth at the prospect of meeting the man who had become a significant part of Abby’s life. "Of course, I’d love to meet him. Don’t keep him waiting, sweetheart."
Abby rose from her seat, a nervous energy coursing through her veins as she opened the door to reveal Remo standing just outside. His gaze met hers, and she offered a subtle nod, silently signaling him to enter.
