Chapter 275: Figure Hiding In The Pillars
Blinking his eyes, the memories immediately swiped from his head like a vanishing mist, whilst returning the vampire back to the present. When his crimson eyes narrowed suspiciously at the rose in his hand, a petal, which was at the brink of falling, eventually dropped to the ground close to Duncan’s feet.
"What the–?" Duncan murmured cryptically, still tranced from what he had seen, and he quickly dropped the rose back on the table.
She gave up her life to save Ivan, but that man... Marius... who is he?

At the royal garden, Madeline had taken her seat on a bench with her son who sat right beside her. The crisp breeze of Autumn swept through the garden, and she watched, with curious eyes as the servants of the Palace gathered, their feet, as they walked by, crunched on the falling leaves.
They moved through the garden, each with a wicker basket in hand, ready to pluck the fruits and vegetables that had reached their peak. The apple trees, heavy with ripe fruits, stood tall behind Madeline, whilst she stood up to pluck the juiciest apples, their red and green skin glistening in the soft sunlight.
"Hmmm...?"
Her son’s big, round, amber-brown eyes followed her, and she knew immediately what he wanted each time he gave her one of those harmless stares. He looked so much like his Father that it made her jealous some of the time. She had the right to feel jealous, she did all the hard work and carried him for eight good months, but he shows up as a carbon copy of someone else.
"Here, this one is good." she handed Alain the apple she had plucked for him, "but you have to wash–"
