Chapter 210: Mistaken Information
"What do you think? Whitebrige is filled with people of magic Cassian! Is this really real? Or are we imagining things?" Madeline asked her loving husband once they were left alone in a room.
"I don’t really care as long as they eat human food too." Was all Cassian could say as he leaned against a window, and Madeline hurried to his side, placing both her hands on each side of his shoulder, her beautiful dark orbs sparkling in wonders.
"This is a sign Cassian, maybe coming here isn’t a bad idea, and did you hear Osvaldo? He said my Mother was a fae, I don’t know what it means yet but it should have something to do with magic, we could get the answers we need and ask for their help to fix the barriers, and everything will be back to normal, Carmarthen will be safe again and I’ll be able to find the culprit responsible for my parents death, everything will be..."
Madeline paused when she suddenly took notice of the way Cassian stared at her. His Amber-brown eyes flickered with warmth, and there was a slight smile on his lips as he listened to her blurt out whatever she had to say in a burst of outshining hope.
"Why did you stop?" He asked, and when she said nothing, his hand gently slid to the back of her neck, his fingers getting entangled with her hair, and the next thing he did sent her heart racing as he pulled her head forward, and leaned down a bit to drop a lingering kiss on her forehead, a hearty action that led Madeline to close her eyes as the warmth of his lips on her forehead sent her system awakening with happiness, and his lips lingered a little longer like he wanted to leave an imprint before pulling back to stare into her eyes.
"Always be happy like this, no matter the situation." He said softly, and Madeline’s eyes flashed with gratitude as she nodded her head in response, and then he took a deep breath as his demeanor softened into a concentrated manner.
"There’s something I want to tell you." He began. He found this opportunity to be the perfect time since she was already in a good mood, and Madeline said nothing, but her eyes held silent inquiries that prompted him to speak up.
"The truth is I... I’m actually in--"
*Knock! Knock! Knock!*
