Chapter 120: Her Health (1)
Taking Madeline into the seat of the carriage, the red-haired vampire stood at the carriage’s entrance, staring at the unconscious woman with a subtle gaze before looking at the young lad and giving him a light pat on the shoulder.
"Your wife isn’t as fragile as you think, so you have nothing to worry about." He assured the young lad. "Any other person would have died in her current position, but she’s still alive and well, get her somewhere safe if you have to."
Cassian could still hear the sound of her heart beating against his sensitive eardrums, and the only fault was her weak pulse when he checked her wrist for any. The cold look in his eyes wavered as he continued to examine her, his coat had shielded her small body, leaving not a little skin exposed.
Inna joined her brother, and for the first time since he got here, she exchanged glances with the red-haired vampire who moved out of the way for her to pass. Clearing her throat to erase the awkwardness she felt, Inna got into the carriage beside Madeline. She sat beside her, resting Madeline’s head on her shoulder while Cassian sat opposite them.
"Where do you plan on taking her?" Worried, Inna asked her brother since she knew he had no place where he could take Madeline to. Cassian remained silent for a while, he looked at his fist that was still coated with little stains of blood before answering.
"Somewhere where she can be safe from the mansion." Came his subtle response and the carriage left.

Somewhere in the upper East quarters, in a peaceful calm estate....
It was already getting to twilight noon when Madeline’s eyes fluttered open, slowly emerging from her slumber.
She couldn’t help but feel a sense of disorientation wash over her, followed by an unexplainable ache that coursed through her weak body. She closed her eyes tightly to endure the unanticipated ache that left her body system shuddering lightly, and a soft hiss escaped her.
As she groggily turned her head from side to side, everything around her seemed different, as if she had been magically transported to some distant era she had only read about in books. Confused, she tried to sit up on the bed as she pushed her body up with all her strength, unable to understand why she felt so weak to the bones, but in the end, she managed to sit up and take in her unfamiliar surroundings.
