The Baroness Misbehaves

Chapter 118: A Brewing Storm (1)

"Are you sure you’re willing to do anything I ask?" The red-haired stranger felt kind-hearted enough to make him realize what he was up against, and Cassian didn’t hesitate to nod as the only thing he could think about was finding his innocent wife, and most importantly... finding her alive and well.

"Yes." He responded firmly, the finality in his tone made the red-haired vampire beam, and he confidently stuck his hands in his trouser pocket. "Alright, we have a deal, but from what I see, this wouldn’t want to be something I’ll end up missing, so how about I show you instead? Let me take you to your wife."

"You know where she is?" Orson, who had kept quiet all through their deal-making, finally joined in to avoid feeling left out. The red-haired vampire glanced at him briefly, and an irritable scoff left his lips when he sensed the blood running through the human’s veins. From his expression, Cassian could tell he had a certain dislike for humans, and Orson was clearly not exempted.

At this point, Cassian wasn’t bothered about anyone’s hostility, but if it turns out that this stranger is deliberately playing games with him in the end, he might as well be prepared to have all his bones broken cause he clearly wasn’t going to spare him for it.

At once, Lily showed up at the graveyard, stealing the attention from the vampire as Cassian looked in her direction, obviously surprised to see her since he never summoned her here. She hurried towards where he stood with quick steps, and before Cassian could ask what she was doing here, she started to gesticulate with her hands, and when Cassian was at the close point of grabbing the meaning to her gestures, the red-haired vampire came to stand before Lily, suddenly blocking their path and obstructing both their views.

Stunned by his presence, Lily’s gaze followed his movement until he bowed a little to meet her ear, and he uttered in a low threatening whisper.

"Don’t say a word to him, it won’t be funny for you if you ruin my chances and spoil the deal I just made, so be a good little ghost and shush." His tone was unusually calm, but it was enough to scare the little ghost who no longer tried to prove her point to the confused Cassian as she dejectedly retreated back.

"What is seriously going on? Do you know where she is or do you intend to waste my time and annoy me with your constant repartee?" Growing impatient and tired of standing here like a fool, Cassian raised his voice a little at the red-haired vampire who finally looked at him.

Orson remained silent since he couldn’t risk getting into a conversation with two hot-headed vampires. It was just bizarre that he was finally meeting a vampire who wasn’t Cassian, and his aura, without a doubt, matched perfectly with that of Cassian’s.
