Chapter 66: Xin Yan Is Sick
As soon as Li Qiang and Gao Yang left the conference, the directors became agitated.
"What level of unprofessionalism? How dare he cancel the meeting! It is uncalled for," an angry director slammed his hand against the table, harboring resentment toward Li Qiang.
"His daughter called, correct? Then there should be problems at home that require his attention," another director stated. He seemed more reasonable than the previous one.
"But he should have spoken up; he made us feel like we are nobodies," the first director said quietly.
"Is he accountable to you?" The other responded immediately, effectively shutting them up.
Meanwhile, Li Qiang drove home at an insane speed; he received several tickets for it, but he will deal with them later. Right now, Xin Yan was the only person on his mind.
He got him there in record time, taking twenty minutes for a forty-five minute drive.
When he arrived home, he found Li Chuxi standing at the door.
"Good thing you are back, dad; mom did not have anything to eat, and now she has a fever," Li Chuxi exclaimed, delighted to see her father as if he had arrived as her saviour.
Li Qiang’s lips formed a thin line as he pinched the space between his brows; Xin Yan did not care about her health, causing him to worry on a daily basis.
"Where is she right now?" Li Qiang enquired.
