Chapter 65: Ending The Meeting Abruptly
"I have done so many bad things, and I think, no, I know I cannot be forgiven for what I have done," Yuan Renshu said, holding his chin with a wistful smile.
"I believe that forgiveness is possible if one is truly sincere; have you tried apologizing to her with all sincerity?" Shi Bei inquired, as she was completely interested in his story.
"I can not face her; I feel guilty every time I look at her; she is one-of-a-kind, but I was blinded by circumstances and caused her so much pain," Yuan Renshu said with a nostalgic smile.
"And, besides, I am certain she will not forgive me," Yuan Renshu exhaled slightly.
He was confident that Xin Yan would never forgive him, given what she had discovered. She was determined to end him, so that is exactly what she would do.
"Have you ever thought about trying to meet her? Who knows, she may find it in her heart to forgive you." Shi Bei had a positive outlook, whereas Yuan Renshu had a negative one.
He felt something stir in him as he looked at her. She differed from Jiang Lanfen. She had only recently met him, but she had already given him advice that his wife would not even consider giving him.
Jiang Lanfen was self-centered; he had recently discovered this and wondered why he had not realized it sooner.
"You know, I have not tried pleading for her forgiveness because I have been so preoccupied with myself that I have forgotten about this; thank you for such wonderful advice," he thanked her, almost jumping on her to give her a big hug, but he was able to resist.
Shi Bei tried not to grin. She could see his reaction but chose not to mention it.
"I would like you to eat your meal and then take some hangover drugs before you leave," she said, smiling.
