Chapter 244: Who Is He?
When it came to having children, there were a few things that were never discussed but were accepted as a universal truth. One of those things was that no one ever really stopped being a parent.
You could be a hundred with a sixty year old and they would still need you in some shape or form. No matter their age, your child was still your child. Whether they became a banker or a bank robber, a soldier, a serial killer, a doctor, a vet, a black market quack. Or even decided to sell pictures of their toes online, that did not matter.
What mattered was that parental love, real parental love, stayed consistent no matter what. That had been something that Jane Molson had been told for years. And when she had been pregnant expecting Emily, she remembered somebody telling her that parenthood altered a person because it was one of the most fulfilling experiences on earth.
Jane had no idea who had told her that. But what she did know was that they had been absolutely right in that observation. Before becoming a mother, Jane had gone through life not knowing that Emily had been missing from it.
But the moment that she had held her little girl in her arms. She had wondered how she had ever thought herself complete without her daughter in her life. But despite the fact that having her daughter had helped fill a hole that Jane had not even been aware existed.
There was something else that had not been mentioned when it came to being a parent.
The stress levels were through the roof.
In every single stage in their children’s lives, even way before they were born. Parents were always stressing over something about their kids. Before birth, it was whether or not they would be born healthy. After birth, it was keeping them healthy and safe. Those were the consistent worries that every parent had.
Every single parent on planet earth wanted their child happy, healthy, and safe. Those were the three main concerns. With those fulfilled most parents could allow themselves to relax a bit. But the worry never really went away.
