Chapter 9: Simulation
When they finally arrived at the open area, Shaan’s whole body froze. He was completely speechless when he saw a large round machine that looked like a teleportation machine that he had seen while reading a magazine. It was placed in the center of the open area and strangely enough, there was a kind of pink colored light vortex that looked very similar to the Midnight gate vortex.
’Wait, but how come? Doesn’t the Midnight gate only open at midnight?’
Just a few minutes later, Mr. Luis along with several other officers emerged from the portal. The officers were seen carrying out several small silver suitcases that had been opened, then arranging them on a long table not far from the round machine.
"Good morning, all amateur Daemonists," greeted Mr. Luis excitedly. "Today we will begin the simulation session. In this simulation session, all amateur Daemonists will enter the artificial midnight gate that has been prepared. This portal was successfully created using advanced technology and the use of special materials obtained from inside the midnight gate. This simulated midnight gate is connected to an area that all amateur Daemonists will be tasked to collect something in."
’Collect something? What does Mr. Luis actually say?’
Mr. Luis slowly took something out of his pocket and raised it high enough for anyone to see what was in his hand "This is one of the crystal stones called Saphire. This crystal has a beautiful deep blue color and hard resistance which is suitable for use as a weapon material."
"Then what does this have to do with the simulation session?" asked a dark-haired man in the crowd.
"The task for the simulation session is for you to search for this crystal stone that has been scattered by some officers inside the artificial midnight gate. Once you find it, bring it back to me and your job is done," said Mr. Luis smiling. "Pretty easy, isn’t it? However, this task is not as easy as you might think because there will be many surprises prepared by the officers inside this place."
’Surprises? What surprises are Mr. Luis referring to?"
"Remember, in this simulation, amateur daemonists are expected to use their skills well and engage the power of their daemons to solve problems within the venue," Mr. Lius explained. "Alright, then. Let’s start the simulation."
