Chapter 30: Encounter, Reunion (29)
The source of the noise was still that small office.
Originally, only the intermittent groans of the pregnant woman could be heard; now, two loud cries of sorrow drowned out all other sounds. At the office door, Mrs. Wang was kneeling on the ground, kowtowing to the doctor while crying and shouting, "Doctor, we were wrong, it was all our fault, we shouldn’t have occupied the space and not let go. Please, be the bigger person and forgive our mistakes, save my daughter-in-law and grandson!"
The doctor could only, with the nurse, try to pull Mrs. Wang up, but Mrs. Wang used all her might to resist, repeating the same pleas with tears.
