Chapter 1713: King or Defeated
Inside a luxurious tavern in the city, Qin Yi and his companions were feasting, while the shopkeeper and the waiter cautiously attended to them, occasionally wiping the cold sweat from their foreheads.
Outside the main door, Qi Refiners kept peeking in.
This is power.
In this world, power is everything.
All Qi Refiners were terrified; having killed a Netherworld General, so many Netherworld Envoys, and even the City Lord, yet they dared to come here brazenly to eat — such is the arrogance of Qin Yi and his companions.
Qin Yi waved his hand, signaling the shopkeeper and the waiter to leave; they had something to discuss.
The shopkeeper and waiter left quickly, as if granted amnesty.
Qin Yi looked at Lang Ya, "Little Wolf, do you still remember the way to Dragon Island?"
Lang Ya nodded slightly.
"Very well, once we’ve finished this meal, we will head to Dragon Island."
A trace of confusion flashed in Lang Ya’s eyes; he had been suppressed for a thousand years and didn’t know what Dragon Island was like now.
After eating and drinking their fill, Qin Yi had the shopkeeper pack many foods that were easy to store, and then they left.
The Netherworld King’s power is formidable; for now, they are not his match, so they will temporarily avoid confrontation and deal with it later.
With Qin Yi’s retaliatory nature, having nearly died at the hands of the God Slaying Netherworld King, he definitely will not let it go.
...
...
Riding the Sun Traveling Boat, they flew over the Nether Sea for about a week before reaching the next city.
Hai Yun City.
They stayed in the city for supplies, preparing to continue their journey.
According to Lang Ya, with their current speed, it would take nearly three months to reach Dragon Island.
Qin Yi smiled bitterly; having already experienced the vastness of the Primordial lands.
This Hai Yun City is under the Dark Netherworld King’s dominion.
Qin Yi and his companions did not linger for long, after eating and drinking their fill, they left again.
They wasted no time, as long as the Sun Traveling Boat had Earth Spirit Stones, it could travel thousands of miles a day, so they journeyed by moonlight and starlight.
Qin Yi felt fortunate; fortunately, they were a group of four, plus the baby, which kept them from feeling bored.
Otherwise, above would be the roaring Nether Sea, and the skies nearly devoid of life, driving someone alone to madness.
For a full two months, Qin Yi and his companions traveled without any incident.
Then, they arrived at a place called Flying Flower City.
Upon entering the city, Qin Yi sensed something different about this place.
The city’s prosperity was not inferior to those on land.
The most crucial aspect was the diversity of its inhabitants — some with tiger heads and human bodies, some with dog heads and human bodies, some beautiful and meek catwomen, and even normal humans.
This seemed to be a city full of mixed elements.
Additionally, people’s clothing here was extremely avant-garde; the men were not too different, but every woman dressed provocatively, more so than courtesans.
What one wears is everyone’s personal freedom; no one has the right to interfere.
But strangely enough, the women here were mostly led by ropes and chains.
For example, the catwomen who just passed by had enchanting bodies and beautiful looks — except for the erected ears atop their heads and tails behind them, they were no different from ordinary people.
Yet these catwomen had slender and black chains locking their wrists, being led by men.
"What is the situation? Why are they all being led? Is it perhaps a custom here?"
Yun Mengyao asked curiously.
Qin Yi rolled his eyes; what place has such a perverted custom, where women are led like beasts?
Yin Qianqian’s delicate face contained fury, with anger surging in her eyes.
Noticing her unusual expression, Qin Yi asked, "Are you alright?"
Yin Qianqian’s full chest heaved as she took a deep breath, "I didn’t expect our Demon Clan to have fallen to this."
Qin Yi paused, then immediately understood, "You mean these catwomen and beast-headed people are of the Demon Clan?"
Yin Qianqian nodded slightly.
"Damn it, these bastards; I want to kill them all."
Evil Lord’s furious voice suddenly resonated in Qin Yi’s mind, wrathful beyond measure.
Qin Yi frowned, "Old ghost, what’s with you?"
"Humans are garbage, scum; if not for that bitch Medusa Queen’s betrayal, it would be the humans led today."
"These were my contacts back in the day; seeing them now in such a state, I am ashamed of them."
Qin Yi raised an eyebrow, "What exactly happened?"
"Back then, I led the Demon Clan, allied with the Demon Clan, waging war against humans, only to be betrayed by Medusa Queen, leading to them ending up like this."
Qin Yi understood.
Victors are kings, losers are bandits; upon Evil Lord’s defeat, his subordinates, the Demon Clan, nearly faced extinction, and the remnants were captured by humans to be used for their amusement.
Yin Qianqian was furious beyond measure, trembling slightly, "In this vast world, is there truly no place for my Demon Clan? Evil Lord, look at the result of your handiwork."
"If you hadn’t bewitched the Demon Clan back then, the Demon Clan would remain strong today and definitely wouldn’t be degraded to this."
Yin Qianqian knew Evil Lord’s Divine Soul was within Qin Yi, and she couldn’t help but rebuke.
"Slap!"
A miserable scream rang out.
Qin Yi and the others looked toward the sound, only to see a plump, short man dressed in luxurious clothing leading a tall and fiery beauty. This woman had two fluffy ears atop her head, appeared delicate and pleasant, but somehow was whipped by the short man.
The light gauze on her body tore, revealing a whip mark where blood oozed.
The Rabbit Woman trembled in pain, biting her lips tightly with tears welling up in her eyes. She didn’t dare resist and was led stumbling forward.
"Not a single human is decent; humans are more disgusting than demons."
Yin Qianqian said coldly.
Qin Yi rubbed his nose, "Regardless of human or demon, there are both good and bad ones."
Yin Qianqian snorted coldly.
Qin Yi felt helpless, smiled wryly, knowing that this woman was currently furious and arguing with her would be courting distress.
"Swish!"
Yin Qianqian darted out like lightning.
"Bang!"
She slapped the short man’s head until it burst like a rotten watermelon, splattering red and white everywhere.
The short man probably never knew why he died; while walking perfectly fine, his head was suddenly smashed.
This scene caused passersby to scream, retreating in horror while staring at Yin Qianqian.
The Rabbit Woman who was being led also shivered in fear.
"Don’t be afraid! I won’t hurt you."
The Rabbit Woman fell to her knees with a plop, her delicate body trembling uncontrollably. She extended the end of the iron chain to Yin Qianqian, softly saying, "Master, I will be obedient."
Yin Qianqian froze, her eyes growing darker.
"What is she doing?" Yun Mengyao asked, puzzled.
Qin Yi sighed softly, "Though she is a demon, she’s obviously been specially trained, losing her wildness; she probably has only obedience in her mind now. Yin Qianqian killed the short man, so she instinctively thinks Yin Qianqian is her next master."
"Stand up, don’t kneel!"
Yin Qianqian was very angry, wondering what had stripped a demon of pride and made it more docile than a cat.
