Kang Se-heon looked at him with a “What are you talking about?” expression, and Tae-seo, wearing an awkward smile, held out his spoon. Then he stalled for time as he ate the braised quail egg Se-heon had placed on his plate.
It was true that the Chairman wasn't someone who’d just let things slide, but it was mostly his own fault for forgetting to mention it earlier.
“It’s the rumor about me and hyung going around at the university.”
“The same rumor you mentioned before?”
Tae-seo shook his head, referring to the rumor that had only gone as far as “Yoon Tae-seo is seeing Kang Se-heon.”
“If it was just that, of course I kept quiet. But then a rumor popped up that could be a little damaging for hyung, so I asked Grandpa for help.”
So that’s why he outright went public with the relationship through a news article? As if asking, “Was that what you were thinking?” Se-heon glanced over at Chairman Kang Hak-jung, who remained perfectly calm.
He hadn’t answered when asked why he’d spoken to the press, or why it had to be now. But now, the reason became clear. As one puzzle piece after another clicked into place, only one was left.
“What was it that had you so worried?”
Pretending not to hear Se-heon’s low murmur, Tae-seo kept chewing his food slowly.

It had been a good time—aside from that bit of discomfort at the end. After parting ways with Chairman Kang Hak-jung and getting into the car alongside Se-heon, a heavy silence filled the air. It was obvious Se-heon wouldn’t start the car until something was said, his fingers tapping the steering wheel at a steady rhythm.
