"Father said he would be attending himself and told us not to come. What were we supposed to do?"
Seo Eun-hee’s flustered voice came through the phone loud and clear.
Having stepped outside to take the call, Se-heon held the phone to his ear while glancing through the gap in the door.
Inside, the sudden appearance of Chairman Kang Hak-jung had clearly unsettled Tae-seo’s parents. They forced awkward smiles in an attempt to mask their surprise. Meanwhile, Tae-seo had recovered from his initial shock in an instant and was now chatting away with Chairman Kang like nothing had happened.
"No wonder he was so insistent on setting the meeting quickly. Who would’ve thought he planned to attend in person?"
Seeing Chairman Kang actively engaging in conversation with Tae-seo, Se-heon shook his head.
"I just hope he doesn’t end up disliking Tae-seo. You know how high his expectations are for you."
Se-heon knew exactly how Chairman Kang viewed him—and that was precisely why he knew the chairman would take a great interest in his choice of partner.
"If that’s what you’re worried about, there’s no need."
"Hmm? What do you mean?"
