Chapter 27
Tae-seo entered the house, rubbing his swollen belly as he settled onto the couch. He had just come back from the hospital, where he had received some important news—but all he could clearly remember was the rib restaurant. Sitting across from him, Kang Se-heon watched as Tae-seo gave him a thumbs-up.
“That place was really good.”
“You were eating so fast, I thought you wouldn’t even taste the ribs.”
“They kept melting in my mouth, so I couldn’t help it. Not my fault.”
“Guess it’s my fault for taking you there.”
Tae-seo’s satisfied expression made Se-heon smile, as if to say, whatever, it doesn’t matter. But as that smile faded, Se-heon studied Tae-seo’s face more closely.
Hearing that Tae-seo was pregnant didn’t suddenly change how he looked at him. But he could tell that his face looked healthier than before. It wasn’t that he had gained weight, but his skin was smoother, glowing in a way that suggested he had been eating and sleeping well.
Even when they were at the hotel eating hamburgers, he hadn’t looked this good.
“Guess I really have been feeding you well.”
“That was your plan all along...”
“No. Absolutely not.”
Se-heon cut him off before Tae-seo could say anything else—just like he had done at the hospital. He wanted to make it clear that he hadn’t been treating Tae-seo well just because of the pregnancy.
