Chapter 676. Day of the Competition
The general HQ of the secondary Carrier spanning three galaxies, was brimming with liveliness. Due to the interempire Secondary Carrier Alliance conference of the High Tier Civilisations, several representatives and big shots of different high tier civilisations in the universe had arrived here.
The day for the competition had finally arrived. The competition was to be held on a star sized stadium, located at the middle of the region. Currently, the place was packed to the brim. Several experts of different magnitude from across the universe were gathered in the stadium. There were also geniuses from various high tier Civilisations, representatives of their various empires currently being discussed by the crowd in fevor and reverence.
The stadium tickets had been sold out, and the place was packed to the brim. Anyone who wanted to follow the competition could only watch through virtual universe streaming platforms.
In the VIP region of the Star sized region, the arrival of a person caused an uproar to emerge. She was tall, had a fair complexion and exuded natural elegance. She was clothed in a red robe that outlined her beautiful figure. Yet, her presence exuded quiet authority.
"Look, that’s chief runesmith Alita, the new president of the Runesmith Association of the General HQ of the SCA"
"She was from the Astral Empire right?"
"Yeah. She rose from the same place Kailen Darkhaven rose from"
"However she has remained an ascetic cultivator for a very long time. The Astral Empire was almost made a mid tier Civilisation and a high tier Civilisation way back because of her, however she opted against it, saying she didn’t have anything to do with them and therefore there was no need for them to enjoy any benefits because of her"
"Really? Isn’t that a bit heartless?"
"Well, that’s how she is. Also, rumors are that she was a commoner without any backing who rose to her level with her own hands. Naturally it’s understandable if she does not want anyone to benefit from the results of her personal efforts"
"But it’s safe to say Kailen Darkhaven also achieved everything with his own hands right?"
"That’s true. Kailen Darkhaven is different though. His loved ones are from the Astral and Arman Empires. Naturally he would not think the Astral and Arman Empires were leeching off his success unreasonably. Even his grandparents are the rulers of the Arman Empire"
Several experts with heaven shattering feats arrived one after the other, causing the crowd to discuss their feats with fervor. The arrival of one person however, caused an uproar the arrival of the previous powerhouses didn’t.
He was a human male with an average build. He had a fairly average face which made him look no different from a regular friendly neighbor young adult. He had blue hair, blue eyes and a slim figure. He was in baggy jeans and t shirts and sneakers. Some sort of cigarette was in his mouth at the moment. He looked extremely ordinary. There was nothing special about him. At least, that’s what it looked like.
"That’s Harrison Fordey. The president of the general HQ of the SCA. He’s a rank 7 supreme stage universe level powerhouse"
"Appearances can really be decieving!"
"Yeah I know. He’s an old monster who has managed the secondary Carrier alliance for a dozen of thousand years! Yet, if you encounter him on the roadside and you are not careful, you may even think you can bully him and lose your life in the end"
"I heard thousand years ago, he conjured a runic array that wiped out 1 million rank 5 supreme stage universe level vimodial pirates causing chaos in the Oceanica Empire. He was simply passing by when he encountered them, fortunately for the Oceanica Empire!"
"He’s an extremely dangerous runemsmith. He does not even have a special law. He has the law of lightning. However, he has all manner of tricks up his sleeves! He’s a cunning and terrifying old monster!"
The audience observed with fervor and respect as the experts in the VIP region bowed respectfully to the man with a cigarette in his mouth. He simply nodded and sat down in the highest part of the VIP region, where the experts of the Secondary Carrier Alliance general HQ were seated.
In the middle session of the VIP region, Legoland was currently seated alongside several big shots of the RiverBlood Empire, the Arman Empire and the Astral Empire. Even Kailen’s grandparents, Old Ha, the Atrexians were here. Apart from Arrie and company who were in seclusion, literally everyone close to Kailen was here. The big shots of the other empires were also in the middle session of the VIP region, alongside several people related to them they had brought to accompany them.
Then, the lowest part of the VIP session was solely reserved for the representatives of the various empires.
"Look, isn’t that Mistborn Filis and Celena Havenhorn?"
Someone muttered.
"The two geniuses who will be representing the RiverBlood Empire? I heard that they improved greatly after the lectures of Principal Darkhaven, even leading them to improve in their crafts"
"Yeah... Perhaps, the RiverBlood Empire can wash away the shame of always losing the alchemy and runesmith competitions this time around"
"I don’t think it will be that easy. Look at the Helio Empire stands for the representatives"
Several noticed two identical looking figures, one a male and the other a female.
"Are those not the werewolf twins of the Helio Empire?"
"Werewolf twins? Is the Helio Empire not full of werewolves, what’s so special about them that they are called the werewolf twins?"
"You should follow the virtual universe news channels more. It’s because of their feats. They are a monsterous pair. One is an alchemist and the other is a runesmith. Rumors are that they have a terrifying rune skill Proficiency and purity level. Although, no one knows specifically how monstrous they are, they cannot be underestimated"
"That’s Black Flask Vulro from the Armament Ancient Empire. Rumors are that he toppled over several geniuses in the healer’s competition recently in the Armament Ancient Empire Academy. Also, he is a black flask alchemist at the same time!. He killed several cultivators with lethal poisons over a fued because of a secret realm during an expedition. He’s very ruthless and powerful"
"It seems the Asura Corrugation Empire decided to stay out of the runesmith and alchemy competition this time"
"Technically, they only participate in the Alchemy and the runesmith competitions. So, it’s safe to say they are not participating in the conference. However, the emperor and several others from the Asura Corrugation Empire royal family came to watch"
As people discussed among themselves, placed bets on competitions that were yet to start, among others, the higher ups of the secondary Carrier Alliance HQ were also discussing among themselves.
"This time, I hope better youngsters manage to join our ranks" Harrison said.
Runemsith Alita nodded "Indeed sir. I really look forward to what this generation of geniuses have to offer" She sighed "It’s a real pity that Kailen Darkhaven didn’t participate this time"
The other experts of the SCA general HQ sighed too. They really wanted to see the once in an era prodigy’s work for themselves. They were all terrifying secondary Carrier professionals. However it was not every day that one got to witness someone with a purity level and rune skill Proficiency of 99.99 percent at work, even if they were below one’s rank. It was a pity he didn’t participate in the conference.
As for Harrison, a glint flashed through his eyes. For someone of his calibre, certain schemes were easy for him to deduce. He had lived far too long to not see through what the RiverBlood Empire had planned. A slight smirk tugged at the edge of his lips for a moment before it disappeared.
"Sir, should we begin?" Runesmith Alita, the host of the competition asked.
"We can begin now" Harrison nodded.
