He Became A Monstrous Genius After Obtaining A Time Dilation Artifact

Chapter 667. Gun?

RiverBlood Empire.

HQ base 7009

"Alright lads. Listen up, we will be starting a campaign to claim the other empire bases in the vicinity tomorrow, now that we’ve managed to secure this strategic location. We can carry on with the rest of our plans."

A tall centaur with an intimidating build stood before all the officers of the base in a large clearing in the open in the base. Everyone nodded.

"Yes sir."

"I hope you all had nice meals?" The leader of the base said with a voracious grin plastered on his face.

"Naturally, Boss Ishmeal. Isn’t that the purpose of this campaign? Take over the empire bases, absorb the lifeforce of subdued enemies and move on the citizens next," someone said with a chuckle.

Everyone nodded, including boss Ishmeal.

"That’s the plan. Since you are all enjoying the benefits, all the more reason to continue," he said.

At this moment, empirewide streaming platforms and beyond, were completely silent. Some of the veteran awakeners were confused. What was the military of the RiverBlood Empire doing? Were they not dampening the morale of the citizens by streaming the vimodials? Was this not one of the strategic bases that was an entry point into other bases, which further led into the empire?

These veteran awakeners were aware that this base had been claimed by some vimodial pirates through their intelligence channels. They were not surprised that the vimodials were a group of pirates because the vimodials were not united by a singular power over them after they were pushed back by the Universe Alliance in the olden war.

Although they were not against each other, they simply attacked in scattered groups, without a centralized united front. Sometimes, it could be a large army of vimodials led by a single person or a group of stronger ones with a chain of command, trying to dominate a region. Other times, it could be a small group of vimodials causing massive trouble, plundering planets of their lifeforce and all that.

After the key vimodials that led the charge against the races of the universe in the olden war were killed and the vimodials were pushed back by the alliance, this is how the vimodials had operated.

Anyway, the veteran awakeners watching the stream knew that, concerning the pirate vimodials taking over this base of the empire military, the military HQ of the RiverBlood Empire had been silent about this. It was covert news, not easily accessible. This was done to not further weaken the morale of empire citizens, who had received bad news about the Frontlines recently over and over again.

So why were they broadcasting it now? Citizens were currently in panic at the moment. What the hell was going on? They had clearly heard the communication between the vimodials. Were the vimodials going to breach Empire defenses?

At this moment, something happened.

A very large ethereal looking dragon suddenly appeared in front of Ishmeal, the vimodial leader over HQ base 7009. The dragon’s eyes glinted with ruthlessness. Before Ishmeal could realise what was happening, the dragon swallowed the figure of Ishmeal whole.

Screams reverberated across the place for a moment before everywhere turned silent. Everyone watching the stream had their eyes glued to their screens in shock. What sort of runic attack was this? Why was it this terrifying?

Wait... was this why the empire military decided to stream this? Were they launching an offensive attack to reclaim the base?

The vimodials exchanging words casually now had expressions of fear on their faces. What the hell had just happened? Under their terrified gazes, the ethereal dragon disappeared as soon as it appeared.

However, boss Ishmeal, the centaur who had led them for a long time, was dead?? Not even his body had been left behind. Who attacked them?

At this moment, they looked up. The stream switched too.

A figure floated calmly in the sky. Each step he took blended seamlessly with the void. Those watching the livestream recognized the person.

Professor Darkhaven?

The Mad Tactician?

The vimodials could not move. Of course they knew him. Who in the universe didn’t? He was the greatest lunatic in the universe at the moment. A mad man who defied logic and ended civilisations overnight.

Kailen didn’t speak. He simply moved. His figure transformed, literally into the void. Everything seemed to have come to a halt in that moment. An ethereal majestic and void-like feeling spread across the place. He was nowhere, but he was everywhere. He was simply, space.

Space twisted and rippled across where the Vimodials stood, rooted in shock. The ripples rolled over them. None could even scream. Ashes. No. Nothing remained. They were all gone.

Erased. Into nothing. The space between the very atoms of their beings had been surgically separated from the other, under Kailen’s control. Space encompassed everything; atoms and molecules were not excluded. As long as space existed, it would bend to Kailen, who was an extension of space, one with space itself.

Kailen reappeared again. He materialised into his normal form again. He simply nodded. He was just about to meld with the void and disappear, when a figure appeared in the sky.

"How dare you kill my disciple! How dare you kill Ishmael?"

"He’s not a vimodial but his disciple is a vimodial? What a strange relationship. He probably didn’t know his disciple was a vimodial," Kailen thought.

"A rank 1 supreme stage universe level powerhouse."

The moment Kailen muttered, he felt spatial ripples on the man. He definitely had the law of space. If that was the case, then Kailen knew it would be difficult to attempt an escape in the next moment. The man was a rank 1 supreme stage universe level space law awakener.

Kailen could try using umbral replacement to disappear. But what if the man killed him before he tried that? He could use a teleportation rune, but what if the same thing happened. He could try tearing through space, but the man was a more powerful space law user than him. What if the man sealed space?

Kailen calculated his options quickly. He was calm. He chose the option with the least risk. He used Emotional resonance, gleaning the man’s thoughts from his facial expressions. Kailen understood the fellow was cultivating somewhere in the universe. However, he had a special way of knowing whether or not his disciple was alive. When he found out his disciple was dead, he simply arrived here through some means.

He didn’t do any research on Kailen. He didn’t know Kailen. Nor did he want to. To him, all that mattered was that the person died. This meant he wouldn’t be too careful around Kailen. He would see Kailen as a weak junior he could just kill.

He underestimated Kailen.

Good.

Kailen thought.

His guard was down. The method to raise the least suspicion, let him even look down on Kailen even more, was not an attempt to escape. But one that seemed like a last ditch, desperate attempt.

The streamers were silent. What would Kailen Darkhaven do?

This person was definitely powerful. Probably a rank 1 supreme stage universe level powerhouse, some thought. Some of the veteran powerhouses watching this knew this man from a thousand years ago. He was a space law powerhouse. He was at the intermediate stage universe level back then. He had entered into seclusion a thousand years ago to break into the supreme stage universe level. To think he had succeeded. He probably did not know his disciple was a vimodial.

But, would Darkhaven figure a way out as usual to deal with this terrifying fellow or would the Mad Tactician fall here?

A gun appeared in Kailen’s hand.

Not even a moment had passed since the man appeared. Kailen had accessed the situation and decided the best course of action in a single moment. What was this gun for? It looked very ordinary.

He fired the gun. The man smirked. A last ditch attempt? One made in fear? Some stupid gun? Heh.

But the smile vanished. The man didn’t see anything. But he felt something tearing through his skull. Blood splintered everywhere. Whatever the gun contained, it was too fast. He had underestimated his enemy. He who had dominated the universe thousand years ago. These were his last thoughts.

Lightning followed. It wreathed his figure. Paralysed. The lightning ravaged his being further. His figure was scorched from head to toe. Then he was incinerated into nothing, before he even realized how.

Darkaven stood calm, eyes casual. It was as if everything was within expectations.

"That was a close call. I should really become stronger quickly." A glint flashed through Kailen’s calm eyes as he was in thought.

However, the audience naturally didn’t know his thoughts. Instead, one thing was happening everywhere in the universe, across regions where people had watched this stream. Did he just kill a rank 1 supreme stage universe level powerhouse with a gun?

At this point, news had circulated about the person Kailen had just killed. He was called Draco Stele. One of the powerhouses who shook the RiverBlood Empire thousand years ago. He was a rank 6 intermediate stage universe level powerhouse when he sustained a wound from an opponent and went into seclusion at the time. To think he’d return as a rank 1 supreme stage universe level powerhouse, only to be killed in this manner.

Many individual’s thoughts churned. Kailen Darkhaven had killed another terrifying space law combatant at the rank 1 supreme stage universe level with a mysterious gun.

Silence.
