The two men turned their heads towards the direction of the door, their eyes locking onto the figures standing in the entrance. And then, recognition dawned on their faces. Dave’s eyes widened in surprise, and a broad smile spread across his face. "Aurora and Eldora!" he exclaimed, his voice filled with excitement.
The two sisters, Jackie’s siblings, stood before him, their faces lighting up with joy as they met Dave’s gaze. Their smiles grew even wider as they hurried towards him. Without hesitation, they threw their arms around Dave, embracing him warmly.
"Oh, it’s so nice to see you two again," Dave said, his voice muffled by the hug. He held them dearly, his face buried in their hair. The ladies giggled, their happiness infectious. The hug lasted for a moment, with Jackie watching in surprise, his eyes fixed on the scene unfolding before him.
He couldn’t help but feel a pang of curiosity and jealousy, as he wondered how his sisters had become so close to Dave. The warmth and affection they showed Dave was a stark contrast to the way they had always treated him.
Jackie sat back, observing the reunion with interest, until eventually, the hug came to an end, and the sisters stepped back, beaming with happiness.
Dave smiled, his eyes shining with pleasure, as he gazed at the two before they launched into a flurry of words, their complaints and concerns pouring out in a rapid stream, all directed at Dave.
"How could you have left us all alone?" Eldora asked, her voice tinged with a mix of sadness and annoyance.
"You didn’t even tell us where you were going, or that you were leaving that day," Aurora added, her eyes sparkling with a hint of reproach.
"Do you know how sad we were?" Eldora continued, her voice rising in emphasis.
