Chapter 160: CH 160: Punish them?
The three guards’ eyes widened as they recalled the description given to them about the leader. A brown, curly hair, a heart-shaped face, and a sharp jawline that made him look old yet young at the same time - the man before them seemed to fit the description perfectly.
They also remembered the distinctive clothes they were told the leader would wear. Though, they were told not to rely so much on that, as it might have been changed before he returned, but surprisingly, the attire that Dave currently had on was the same as the one described to them.
As they pieced together the description and matched it with the man before them, a realization dawned on them. The match was almost perfect, and a sense of dread crept over them.
"Bryn, is there a chance that this fellow before us is the leader, and we might have just gone a long way to offend the leader?" the lead guard asked his fellow guards, his voice barely above a whisper. His knees shook slightly, betraying his growing unease.
Bryn’s response was laced with a mix of fear and resignation. "With everything we’ve done so far, yes, we’ve definitely offended the leader. We had done nothing but the complete opposite of what we planned for. We’re in a deep shit." The words hung in the air, heavy with implication.
Suddenly, the three guards could be seen shaking, not out of fear of what they did, but out of fear of what might happen to them next.
Just then, Jackie’s voice boomed from behind them, his words piercing the air like a lash. "Are you guys dumb? Can’t you see that everyone is bowing down to the leader in front of you? Go on your knees and apologize for your mistakes, now and before!"
The guards’ eyes dashed towards Jackie, and then back to Dave, their faces pale with realization. As if Jackie’s words had managed to snap them out of their daze, the guards immediately dropped to their knees, their heads bowing in unison.
They pressed their foreheads to the ground, their bodies trembling with fear and apology. The sound of their knees hitting the ground echoed through the air, a stark contrast to the silence that had preceded it.
The guards’ voices rose in unison, their words tumbling out in a frantic apology. "Please leader! We’re so sorry, we didn’t mean to push you out! We didn’t know you were the leader!" Their bodies were shaking with fear and remorse.
