Although, Dave didn’t try to gain Ella’s affection or anything, still it seemed like it was her who developed feelings for him.
Compared to Simbi, he had impressed her by saving her and the group, causing her affectionate level to increase. But Ella’s own had increased voluntarily without Dave having to do anything. Was that possible?
He read the rest of the system messages, and he realized that he had received some exp from completing his second daily quest, the one having him to kill ten beasts in a day. The system must have counted the boulderback beasts he killed back then.
But now, he still have the mandatory quest to complete, maybe after the punishment ends, he’ll work on that. But then he remembered that he still needed some energy points to make that possible.
At that moment, his thoughts had been interrupted as they approached a site with gruesome beasts laying anyhow on the ground.
The truck rumbled along the road, its tires slowing down before it eventually came to an abrupt stop. The sudden halt jolted everyone inside, and those in the cargo area wasted no time in reacting. Curiosity mixed with anxiety, and they swiftly scrambled to exit out of the truck.
Simbi was the first to leap out, her feet hitting the ground with a sense of urgency. Ella followed closely behind, her expression a mix of confusion and concern. The rest of the group was right on their heels, each of them eager to understand why the truck had turned around and why they had headed back towards the very place they’d just barely escaped from.
