Mira noticed Zamian still at her words and immediately regretted saying them.

"I... I—" she began, but Zamian cut her off.

"Sleep now," he said firmly, his tone leaving little room for argument.

"But I’m not feeling sleepy," she protested, her voice tinged with a mix of defiance and uncertainty. "You’re leaving tomorrow, and I don’t know when you’ll be back. Let me stay a little longer... besides, it’s still too early to sleep," she added, her voice softening, almost pleading.

Mira had spoken so freely that it made Zamian’s lips tug up slightly. She didn’t want to sleep; her heart ached at the way he had dodged her question. Even though she regretted asking, at least she had said it—she needed answers. But he had avoided it, leaving her feeling frustrated and disappointed.

Why had she even asked? Wasn’t she the one who wanted the contract to end so they could divorce? Yet now, it seemed like the tables had turned. It was Zamian who seemed to want the divorce so badly. The thought troubled her; she had wanted to escape this binding contract, yet here she was, clinging to moments with him, questioning her own desires.

Just then, Zamian slipped his hand under her loose gown, catching Mira completely off guard. Her eyes widened in surprise—she hadn’t expected him to do that. A rush of warmth flooded her senses as she realized with a jolt that she wasn’t wearing anything underneath.

"W-what are you doing?" she stuttered, her heart racing as a mix of surprise and excitement surged within her. The air between them thickened, charged with an unspoken tension that made her breath hitch.
