"Zack..." Mira whispered, her voice trembling as she took in the shocking sight before her. The disbelief in her eyes was palpable. How could someone she had trusted, someone she hoped to be friends with, be the one behind her kidnapping? The shock was mirrored in Zack’s expression as he stood before her, his calm demeanor only making the situation more unsettling.
"You don’t need to be afraid," Zack said, his voice steady and strangely soothing. "I’m not going to hurt you. I just need to speak with you."
Her movements were frantic as she tried to free herself from the ropes binding her, but Zack’s voice cut through the room, tinged with an edge of concern. "Careful there. The more you struggle, the tighter it gets."
Mira’s breath came in ragged gasps as she looked at him, her eyes wide with desperation. She couldn’t think clearly, overwhelmed by the situation. Zack took a deep breath, his gaze never leaving hers. "I would like you to divorce Zemian. I don’t want to see you with him ever again."
Mira’s heart pounded in her chest, her breath trembling as the weight of his demand sank in. "I’ll let you go if you agree to my terms," Zack added, his tone firm.
Just then, a man entered the room, carrying a file. Zack signed it briskly, his movements precise and indifferent. Handing the file back to the man, he instructed, "Untie her hands."
The man nodded, muttering, "Yes, boss," as he began to untie Mira’s wrists. Tears welled up in Mira’s eyes, her breath coming in short, uneven bursts. The tears were warm against her cold cheeks, the chill of her skin adding to her confusion. Her head spun with dizziness, but she managed to catch a glimpse of the man’s face as he worked. She was too stunned to speak, her mind reeling from the shock of her situation.
After the man finished untying her hands, he placed the file on the ground near her and exited the room. Mira’s heart raced as Zack’s voice cut through the silence again. "Either you divorce him, or you choose to die. I don’t want you with him."
