Chapter 28: Missing
Lily sat in her office chair, intently scrolling through her Hellogram app. Her usual routine was interrupted by a post from an anonymous user. The post featured a photo of Mira and Zamian together, which left Lily in shock. She couldn’t believe what she was seeing. The sight of Mira and Zamian in such a context was unexpected and unsettling.
As Lily continued to scroll through the comments, her concern grew. Her mind raced as she tried to make sense of the situation. Suddenly, she remembered seeing Mira walking through the hallway earlier and wondered if the post was related to her sudden appearance. Her face paled as she pieced it all together.
She realized she needed to act quickly. Without hesitation, she rushed out of her office and headed toward Mira’s office with a sense of dread and determination. When she reached Mira’s office, she flung open the door, only to find it empty except for some of Mira’s personal belongings. The room was eerily quiet and devoid of its usual occupant.
Her heart pounded in her chest as she looked around, unable to believe Mira was gone. Without wasting any time, she dashed back outside. Her anxiety increased when she saw James quickly packing up and preparing to leave.
"Is Mira in there?" Lily asked.
"No, I am looking for her," James said.
Desperation in her voice, Lily called out to James, "I’ll check inside the company to see if Mira’s still here. Can you look outside, maybe at the convenience store?"
James nodded in understanding and hurriedly got into his car. The vehicle sped off, leaving Lily to handle the search inside the company.
